What is so difficult to understand about the Resistance media creating a lose, lose scenario and then claiming Trump has lost? That is exactly what's happened here.

Schumer and Pelosi cried about the prospect of Trump shutting down the government as irresponsible then when weak kneed Congressional Republicans induced the President to give in, they cry about how irresolute he is for giving them what they want.

While I do not support his concept of 'The Wall', the illegal immigration has to be addressed in some manner with physical obstacles. Pungee traps may accidently harm the fauna, so what do you recommend as resolution to the issue?
He damned himself when he ran on a cartoonish campaign promise of building a giant physical wall all across the border and telling everyone Mexico would pay for it. He also damned himself when folks realized he was not this master deal maker he bragged about being. Trumo doesn't have the votes in the House or Senate in spite of his party having the majority both chambers.

You know what I would do? I wouldn't make impossible promises like that. I would increase staff for immigration courts, border security and processing asylum claims, get the DACA folks through the immigration process, expand e-verify, and lock up the sh-t out of any business owner that is knowingly hiring illegal immigrants. Those are some real steps that I believe would have a better chance at passing than DA WALL.

And I won't tell people another country will pay for our immigration policies.

Thank you for the response.

While I may not agree with a couple of points, I do agree with the enforcement of willful employment infractions. Any DACA who has been in this country for 5 years past the age of 18 is here illegally and should be treated as such if they have made no clear attempts to correct their status.

I truly believe there are very few who actually believed the 'Mexico will pay for it', but did want to see a complete overhaul of the immigration process just as I do, which wasn't done by the previous administration. And it has nothing to do with skin color, and everything to do with controlling who actually is 'awarded' citizenship.

I don't understand how any Republican is not thoroughly embarrassed by this debacle. The “master negotiator” in chief is a bumbling fool, who has changed his mind on these funding issues three times in the last three days, each time following the lead of something he saw of Fox News. His greatest asset going forward is the Republican majority in the Senate and he just made fools of McConnell and the rest of the Senate Republicans by allowing them to pass a clean continuing resolution before deciding that he wouldn’t sign it.

Your intense dislike for Trump has bee noted multiple times. So how about leaving out the mouth-frothing, and address the subject ONLY.

I get lost when there are too many adjectives.....

I am disappointed Trump backed down, but not surprised. Likely Fox News following something they picked up on as being discussed, because contrary to your beliefs, Trump is not stupid. Crass, socially inept, but not stupid.

What do you mean by “back down?” He’s now back to insisting on funding for his wall or he won’t sign a funding bill. And this is after the White House told McConnell that he would support a clean CR and McConnell went ahead with a Senate vote (passing the bill Trump now says that he won’t sign). It's just staggering incompetence by Trump. And I’m sorry, but the evidence is just overwhelming that Trump is an idiot.

Looks like Trump got his wall funding approved. 5.7 billion. It'll almost def lose in the Senate but hey....

House approves spending bill with $5.7B for border wall

Quote:
The House of Representatives Thursday approved a bill that would fund most of the federal government through early February -- and provides $5.7 billion for President Trump's long-promised border wall, increasing the chances of a partial government shutdown later this week.

Or more accurately, he succeeded in shutting down the government because he wasn’t happy that Fox and Friends criticized him.
