So Ford wants to accuse Kavanaugh of a sex crime but doesn't want a lawyer who specializes in prosecuting sex crimes to question her. Sounds extremely fishy. Because for someone who claims to be a victim of sexual assault or attempted sexual assault then she should want someone who is experienced in putting away sexual offenders to question her and Kavanaugh.

The lawyer representing Christine Blasey Ford has sent a letter to Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley expressing concern over the Republican's hiring of an "experienced sex crimes prosecutor" for Thursday's hearing.
Both Ford and Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh are set to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday for a public hearing to address Ford's accusations of sexual assault against Kavanaugh.
"This is not a criminal trial for which the involvement of an experienced sex crimes prosecutor would be appropriate," the letter from Ford's lawyer, Michael Bromwich, said. "Neither Dr. Blasey Ford nor Judge Kavanaugh is on trial. The goal should be to develop the relevant facts, not try a case."
Bromwich also wrote that using outside counsel to perform questioning on the senators' behalf would go against Ford's "repeated requests through counsel that senators conduct the questioning."

It stands to reason a female would be better equipped to question Ford. The left tell us all the time that men our out of touch, can not understand what women go through, and treat women poorly. By the very nature of the quest for truth, some questions will have to be asked that could be viewed as antagonistic in nature. With a man asking them, the perception could be that he's "mansplaining" or "manquestioning" her. So then, isn't it prudent to bring in someone who is not only of the same gender but familiar with what sexual assault victims go through?

As for her being referred to as an "assistant" it is reasonable to believe that they only mean that although she may be qualified, she will not be acting as legal counsel rather her only duties will be to "assist" in questioning the witness.

I actually thought it very odd to enlist a sex crimes prosecutor to do the questioning.
Seems to me that a professional sex crimes investigator (law enforcement) would be a better choice.

Investigators find facts. There are no fact to be found. Not in the vague descriptions of time and place and possible witnesses of 36 years ago.

This action in the Senate is not an investigation. It is a trial. Investigators do not discover facts in a trial. Prosecutors however, may well reveal them.

Don't look for a Perry Mason moment today. Very unlikely to happen. What will happen is the Democrats will tell us what a brave courageous lovely woman Ms Ford is and the Republicans will remind us that Judge Cavanaugh is a man with a proven record of excellent practice of our laws. The pawn, Ms Ford, will be damaged and removed from the game.

The 2019 SCOTUS sits on Monday. It is supposed to have 9 members. Currently only 8 exist. The Democrats do not want the vacancy filled by Trump pick. They are setting the SCOTUS up for tie votes on key issues for the year. Allina effort to protect their precious Roe-V-Wade and at the same time, inhibit the President.

And they have no problem prostituting and burning women to do it.

There is also a big element of revenge for Merrick Garland mixed in with Resistance hatred for Trump at work in the smear campaign against Kavanaugh.

Democrats and never Trumpers have demonstrated through the Mueller witch hunt what getting to the bottom of allegations means, all out partisan warfare using a weaponized criminal justice system to overturn election results. Now we have mostly Democrats insisting on another investigation to get to the bottom of even more wildly implausible accusations than Russian collusion. Worse we have the spectacle of Congressional Democrats denouncing the bedrock principle of innocent until proven guilty as inappropriate. It's a stark reminder of just how dedicated the Resistance is to the idea that their hatred for Trump justifies any excess.
