Hypocrisy is all it is.

I've been to the Middle East.
I suspect you haven't...

And your personal fear of Muslims in general is not shared by me.

Your question is like asking me what paths I would take for scuba diving. As I have never looked into such an activity, it's not a realistic question.

But to answer it anyways, the below would probably be the factors I would look at...
From the article I gave...
It has a repressive central government, Stronski said, many corrupt border officials and a poor citizenry reliant on money sent home by relatives working elsewhere, usually in Russia, or earned through illicit activities. Furthermore, there is a large terrorist presence just over the border in northern Afghanistan. (U.S. State Department Travel Advisory Level 4: “Do not travel.”)
The Pamir Highway goes right next to Afghanistan.

I know your statement was not directed at me, but I feel that I needed to comment on it.

I don't fear Muslims, but I also would not travel in areas of the world that have shown hostility towards Americans. That could be many places in the ME, Europe, Asia or many other parts of the world. It is just common sense.

I don't fear kindergarten aged children either, but if you get enough of them together with bad intentions, I would fear the group.
