Kanavanaugh confirmation hearing set for Sept. 4

By Stephen Dinan - The Washington Times - Friday, August 10, 2018

Republicans said Friday they’ve scheduled Judge Brett Kavanaugh for a confirmation hearing Sept. 4, moving ahead with a speedy schedule that could still see him confirmed in time to be on the Supreme Court before October.

Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles E. Grassley announced the hearing, saying there’s plenty of information out there for senators to evaluate the judge without waiting for potentially millions of pages of documents from the National Archives.

“It’s time for the American people to hear directly from Judge Kavanaugh at his public hearing,” Mr. Grassley said.

moving ahead with a speedy schedule
Speedy?...Uhhhh...no...

Samuel Alito was nominated on October 31st, 2005 and confirmed by the Senate on January 31st, 2006...Three months...

Elena Kagan was nominated on May 10, 2010 and confirmed by the Senate on August 5th, 2010...5 days short of three full months...

Kavanaugh was nominated on July 9, 2018....His hearing will be on September 4th, 2018...That's 5 days short of three full months, but that's ONLY the hearing...It's expected to last 3 or four days...

So if he's confirmed around September 7th or 8th, it is 100% INLINE with Alito's and Kagan's confirmations...

Nothing "speedy" about it...Sounds "status quo" to me...

Merrick Garland was nominated on March 16, 2016 and was before the Senate for 293 days (over 9 months) before it expired on Jan 3, 2017 and Garland didn't even receive a hearing by the Senate Judicial Committee.

Based upon the corruption, brutality, inhumanity, immorality, dishonesty, and incompetence of the Trump administration the White House is the dirtiest house in America and there's no known cleanser that with remove the stains of the Trump Administration.

Well then you should be furious at Joe Biden for the creation of this unwritten rule...He was the Judiciary Chairman at the time...

Waa, it was wrong for Judge Garland not to get a hearing so we get to do wrong too. Democrats need to stop whining about the injustice of elections having consequences especially after Obama used it again and again to justify his dictatorial impulses.
