Can't erase history.
And after the war, they pledged their loyalty to the US. They and their descendants paid taxes and served in the military. Their descendants deserve and enjoy the same rights and privileges as any other citizen including the right of free speech.

Look AZ I'd Agree.
My point is that the type of thinking I've been satirizing is what some ... um "Conservatives" toss at others who pay their taxes, serve in the military and have loyalty to the US.
but are to expressing their free speech by
• wearing shirts of another country... etc
• protesting
• knelling at the national anthem
• flying a red black & green flag
• raising a fist
• wearing a hijab or turbin
• fill in the blank

Questioning their loyalty and STATED motives is a BS UNamerican move.
And by comparison the symbol, flags, and acts, usually do not have any where near as bad a connotations as the confederate "battle flag" carries with it full on violent armed rebellion against the US, white supremacist racism with real terrorism and serial murders.

Seems to me objectively speaking that there is NO symbol in the US that carries that much ANTI-US, violent hate filled historical and current baggage.

But I agree with you. that If people still want to use it becasue they personally ONLY see other positive connotations. it is their right. to personally wave it around.

And it's not fair to assume the worse of others, foreign or American, simply because you don't like the symbols they use. Especially when symbols are given meaning by the users. Benny of the doubt should be given until they show by words or actions over time that any of the negative traits that might be associate with the symbols are true.
IMO

Now its blame "Conservatives" for a whole host of exercising their freedom of speech on issues. You get to dictate the meaning of flying the Confederate battle flag while condemning so-called Conservatives for their reaction to others exercising their rights.

I'll be happy to discuss the reaction to the list of issues you wrote, in another thread where that is the purpose.

I Don't think liberals and assorted snowflakes haven't tried their hardest to erase that history.

Snowflake comments and other weenie retorts wil be entertained for a short period.

I didn't dictate the meaning of the battle flag. the various users have over the past 100+ years. I just pointed out the very real darkest meanings that some embrace/promote.
And I agreed with you that people have a right to express themselves, and promote any alternative meanings THEY like.

So there's no beef here really, right?
