Nazi concentration camps never looked so good.

Some say child detention centers are ‘concentration camps.’ But the truth paints much different picture.

In light of the controversy surrounding the Trump administration’s “zero tolerance” illegal immigration policy, many have accused the administration of operating policies similar to Nazi Germany, while others have outright compared child detention centers to concentration camps.

However, new details reveal life inside the detention centers is the complete opposite of life inside Nazi German concentration camps.

What are the details?

According to Breitbart News, once unaccompanied minors — who arrive to the U.S. with their parents or alone — are placed in detention camps, they experience a standard of living higher than millions of American children who live in poverty.

Breitbart reported about 41,000 unaccompanied minors were placed in camps last year, which are operated by the Office of Refugee Settlement. Once there, data shows the federal government spent an average of $34,660 caring for each child on an annual basis or about $96 per day.


Meanwhile, federal data shows there were more than 13 million American children living in poverty in 2016. That means they lived in a household where the annual income was $24,563 — for a family of four — or less. That equates to just $68 per day.

The Washington Times reported last month that the government spent $1.4 billion in 2017 to care for unaccompanied minors, which equated to about $670 per day.

What is life like inside the detention centers?

According to Breitbart’s Joel Pollak, who visited a center in El Cajon, California:

Media tell us @realDonaldTrump is keeping kids in “cages.” The facility I visited is a dormitory with a school, clinic, and outdoor recreation. They give them new clothes .They have field trips to parks & zoos. They even had a “prom.” Sad situation but not what we have been told.

Funny how the photo used to start this current Trump bash comes from the past president, and nowhere to be found in MSM is the screen shots from the video posted above.

Obama caught flack for putting illegals kids in jail with parents, so it was changed that only 20 days they'd be in a holding pen and no more.
Not only is trump separating kids from parents -sometimes hundreds of miles away- but some of these people are LEGAL refugees presenting themselves to BP as asylum seekers.

BTW, those kids don't exactly look like they were yanked from their mommies while breast feeding.

The term holding pens, however, is accurate.

To be exact, these people are not legal refugees. They are people applying for legal status. Again, that's the SOME to which you refer. The rest are simply illegals.

If that were true libs wouldn't be callin' 'em Nazi concentration camps.

we previously have let the process run its course with those seeking refugee status. not locking them up at all.
we didnt even have an illegal problem when obama was in. he decreased a lot of that and bush had decreased it when the economy went down.
people identify with this lie because they see more people with an accent. this is partly due to Americans moving around to get a job. accents dont necessarily mean you are illegal. maybe 2nd generation or first.
trump beat on the subject and made people believe there were hordes running over the border. now that we have a unique refugee crises he doesnt know what to do.

That's what happens when an adult criminal gets arrested, they get separated from their family. The children go into foster care of one soft or another, then sent to a relative it one can he found. Blame here belongs strictly on the criminal not those enforcing the law.
