Default Judge sends Paul Manafort to jail, pending trial

I think it's at least till September?

Three US marshals led Manafort out of the courtroom into the prisoner holding area immediately after the judge's ruling. He was not placed in handcuffs. Before he disappeared through the door, he turned toward his wife and supporters and gave a stilted wave.
Minutes later, a marshal returned to give his wife, Kathleen, still standing in the courtroom's front row, Manafort's wallet, belt and the burgundy tie he wore Friday.

Wow, what a tough sentence for Paul Manafort, who has represented Ronald Reagan, Bob Dole and many other top political people and campaigns. Didn’t know Manafort was the head of the Mob. What about Comey and Crooked Hillary and all of the others? Very unfair!

Guess judges look askance at witness tampering.

Looks like Manafort's being gradually demoted to coffee boy.

While Trump has distanced himself from Manafort, the arrest seemed likely to turn up the pressure in the White House. Mueller has asked the president to sit for an interview, which Trump has so far resisted.

Hours after Manafort was jailed, Trump tweeted: “Wow, what a tough sentence for Paul Manafort.” Manafort has not been tried or sentenced.

At the White House before the jailing, Trump falsely claimed to reporters: “Manafort has nothing to do with our campaign. But … I tell you, I feel a little badly about it.”

He added: “You know, Paul Manafort worked for me for a very short period of time. He worked for Ronald Reagan. He worked for Bob Dole. He worked for John McCain, or his firm did. He worked for many other Republicans. He worked for me, what, for 49 days or something? A very short period of time.

In fact, Manafort ran the campaign for five months and continued to advise Trump through the presidential transition.

Trump also falsely claimed that a Department of Justice report issued on Thursday “totally exonerates” him and denied that Michael Cohen, his longtime attorney and fixer who is widely expected to be arrested soon in an investigation related to the Mueller inquiry, was his lawyer. “I haven’t spoken to Michael for a long time,” he said.

Campaign Head for 144 Days.

Personally picked Mike Pence for VP.

Worked with Trump for 30 years.

Lived in Trump Tower, where he met Trump constantly.

Worked on Trump transition team.

Attended infamous Trump Tower meeting.

Manafort's been around for much longer than just being some guy on the campaign for a month and change. Why does Trump lie about something that is so easily disproved?

Is it because his flock will always believe we've been at war with Eurasia?

I don't know but it's all he's got.
In fact I heard it was Manafort who secured all the needed delegates. Not a "coffee boy" sort of rating.

Too bad Manafort isn't a lib. He'd have James Comey defending him before Congress.

I caught a few minutes of Limbaugh yesterday. He was making that the sole purpose of rescinding the bail was to force Manafort to roll over. I think Limbaugh is correct., Manafort is not a flight risk, and the grounds for the rescission seem minor at best or made up.

Unless he rolls over, even if he has to make something up, he will not get a speedy trial.

This witch hunt needs to go away. The country is suffering because of it. Hillary lost. Trump is the duly elected President. Time to get over it.

So every judge in America, the FBI, Trump administration justice department, Washington Post, New York Times, CNN, are all in a big conspiracy to hurt the innocent president?
and foxnews and Limbaugh are the ones telling you the truth?
If that's what you believe you may need therapy.
Besides the fact the judge said she was frought over the decision but that witness tampering was of the most serious acts and she needed to uphold the rule of law...
did you ask yourself WHY Manafort did the witness tampering?
And further why would the president say it was a tough outcome?

ps-these are questions rush never allows on his show except by dupes or actors because he's a propagandist.

Not every judge, but there are quite a few people who have made it their goal to overturn the results of a national election.

Alleged possible witness tampering I believe was the charge. Operative words: charge, alleged, possible. For this you are thrown in jail indefinitely?

Salty, I didn't arrive at my opinion because of what anybody said. It's my informed opinion.

Sadly, although the witch got defeated, the witch hunt goes on. And the country is suffering for it. Time to put this nonsense to bed.

he's in jail till his trial. his bail was revoked. yeah if you are charged with a crime and potential witnesses report to the prosecute they were contacted by you and you tried to persuade them to change testimony, you sit your butt in the can till your trial. yes. absolutely.

I respect that you believe that about yourself. I just doubt you are getting half of the information on what is going on and how many connected to trump have plead guilty etc., also the scope of the whole thing.
and I suspect it is because you tend to believe liars like rush and trump.
