Why are you making stuff up? And why are you defending the 2nd worst word in the English language? and why do you think it is OK to use that word on national television?

Shocker! Who saw this coming?!

lolz

I saw the premier. It was god-awful. Whoever thought this pile of crapola was gonna succeed was higher than a giraffe's vagina.

Roseanne Barr-less ‘The Conners’ loses 25 percent of viewers from series premiere

The second episode of ABC’s “The Conners” – which is the Roseanne Barr-less spinoff of “Roseanne” – lost roughly 25 percent of viewers who tuned in to last week’s premiere, according to TheWrap.

“The Conners” picked up a 1.7 rating and 7.9 million viewers, compared to the debut’s 2.3 rating and 10.5 million viewers, according to the Hollywood trade publication which cited fast-national Nielsen statistics.

Industry insiders speculated that many of the premiere’s viewers simply tuned in to see how Barr’s pro-Trump character would be killed off and wouldn’t return for the second installment. The concerns turned out to be warranted and viewership dropped from an already underwhelming debut.

The first episode of “The Conners” lost 35 percent of the viewers who tuned in to watch the return of the original series in March. Last spring, “Roseanne” returned from a 20-year hiatus to a massive audience, racking up 18.2 million viewers.

The fate of Barr's character was revealed during the series premiere of “The Conners,” four months after ABC axed the “Roseanne” reboot because she tweeted racist remarks about former President Obama's aide Valerie Jarrett.

The original show ran from 1988 until 1997, and was rebooted in 2018 for a tenth season. It was originally scheduled to return for its 11th season but was replaced by “The Conners,” which started off by telling the audience the outspoken matriarch had died from overdosing on prescription opioids.

The second episode continued with a familiar theme as the family continued to mourn the death of Barr’s character while also trying to develop characters to stand alone.

The third episode of “The Conners” is expected to feature a guest appearance by Matthew Broderick, who will reportedly play a love interest for Jackie (Laurie Metcalf).

I watched both episodes of the Connors. While it isn't unwatchable it certainly is wanting for Rosanne's presence.

Even the show last year with Rosanne had it's faults. Not the least of which is the mandatory homosexual character (Darlene's son). It seems every TV show in the last few years has to have a homosexual character. That new show "Friended by God" ( On which the jury is out regarding if it is mocking Christianity or supporting it) the main character's sister is a lesbian. Although the actress playing the part is much too pretty to be a lesbian. Lesbians are almost always butt ugly. Even "Last Man Standing" had an episode in an earlier season where Eve's friend turned out to be a lesbian and tried to kiss her. At least the actress playing that girl is ugly enough to be a lesbian.

Bottom line almost every show on network TV, cable, even Amazon Prime and Netflix have the mandatory homosexual character. Yet homosexuals are less than 1% of the population.

My wife got me watching a new show on NBC called Manifest. It is an interesting show about a plane that disappears for 5 years and then all of a sudden lands at it's intended destination.

Anyway, we were watching an episode last night and one of the main characters is suddenly portrayed as a married lesbian. I turned it off. I swear, you cannot watch a TV show or even a commercial now without some display of homosexuality. This is the left doing what they can to normalize it as mainstream and something to be celebrated. My family and I won't play along!

Report shows record number of LGBTQ characters on broadcast TV shows in 2018-19

The number of LGBTQ characters featured in broadcast TV shows during the 2018-19 season have hit record numbers, according to a new report.

“[A] record-high percentage of LGBTQ regular characters on broadcast TV, with more LGBTQ people of color than white LGBTQ people for the first time among regular and recurring LGBTQ characters,” GLAAD announced Thursday in a release. GLAAD is a media advocacy organization that has monitored the presence of LGBTQ characters on television.

The group’s annual “Where We Are on TV” report showed that 8.8 percent of all regular characters on broadcast television shows this season are LGBTQ, up from last season’s record high of 6.4 percent.

“With anti-LGBTQ policies being debated here and abroad, the stories and characters on television are more critical than ever before to build understanding and acceptance of LGBTQ people,” Sarah Kate Ellis, GLAAD president and CEO, said in a release, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “Not only do stories that explore the rich lives and identities of LGBTQ people move the needle forward culturally, but they pay off in ratings — shows like ‘Will & Grace,’ ‘Supergirl,’ ‘Empire,’ and ‘How To Get Away with Murder’ all attract millions of viewers weekly and demonstrate that audiences are hungry for new stories and perspectives.”

The report also noted that for the first time that 50 percent of the LGBTQ roles on broadcast TV are played by people of color.

How many broadcast TV characters are LGBTQ?

The report showed that of the 857 regular characters who appear on scripted primetime shows, 75 were identified as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and/or queer.

“This is the highest percentage GLAAD has found in the fourteen years this report has counted all broadcast series regulars,” according to the release.

Another 38 had recurring LGBTQ roles.

What about other platforms?

LGBTQ characters played on scripted primetime cable shows increased to 120, along with 88 recurring characters for a total of 208.

In original scripted series on Amazon, Hulu, and Netflix, there were 75 regular LGBTQ characters and 37 recurring ones. Last year, there were LGBTQ 65 characters overall.

What else?

The report named the CW network for having the best record for LGBTQ inclusion for the 2018-19 season.

Thanx.....my point reiterated: Homosexuality has this disproportionately high representation in popular culture when these deviants are only about 1% of the population

It's an intentional act in an attempt to mainstream these perversions into our culture by making it socially acceptable. Unfortunately, it seems to be working.

Almost over. Political correctness 'bout to destroy another tv show.

Ratings: “The Conners” Beaten By Everything, Drops in Total Viewers and Demo as ABC Orders Only 1 More Episode

“The Conners” dropped in everything last night–total viewers, key demo. In the nightly ratings battle. the “Roseanne” spin off continues to trend downward.

Last night, “The Conners” was beaten by everything- “NCIS,” “The Voice,” etc. This was their first really objective run, no World Series, nothing to distract potential viewers.

But the key demo sank, which isn’t a good sign. And the total viewers were down by 180K, which is a lot, frankly. People are leaving and they’re not coming back.

ABC has ordered 1 extra episode to the original order of 10. Sounds to me like a finale. Someone wakes up and says they dreamt Roseanne died. There’s a cackle from the next room. Fade to black.

ADDENDUM Variety is reporting that John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, and Sara Gilbert are each being paid $375,000 an episode. Let’s say Lacy Goranson and Michael Fishman get $100,000 apiece, then there the kids and DJ’s ex wife. That’s a heavy load per week if the ratings keep falling. “The Conners’ has to be added to “Roseanne”‘s syndication package eventually– it will never reach 100 episodes and have its own package. So Werner TV is in trouble, with millions going out and not enough coming back. “The Conners” is doomed.

ABC didn't legitimately think the show can survive without Roseanne, did they? lol
