Default Biden says 'decency' at White House has hit 'rock bottom' after McCain joke

So in the last week I've seen some dong on Fox News lie about John McCain being a "songbird" in order to justify lies about torture being effective, and now an unfeeling scumbag in the WH making a snide statement about him dying without fear of consequences because of the current climate where she works and the circles in which she exists. Because he doesn't support a CIA nominee that was involved with torture.

Before that we had Trump attack McCain's POW status and service to our country.

Can't drain the swamp when the WH is a festering sewer. The fact that this woman hasn't been fired or even reprimanded tells all.

Quote:
Former Vice President Joe Biden said Friday that "decency" in the White House had hit "rock bottom" following a White House aide's joke about Sen. John McCain's health.

"People have wondered when decency would hit rock bottom with this administration. It happened yesterday," Biden said in a striking statement.

The statement was in response to White House aide Kelly Sadler's comments following the Arizona Republican's opposition to President Donald Trump's pick for CIA director by saying Thursday morning that "he's dying anyway," a White House official told CNN. Asked about Sadler's comment, a White House official said, "We respect Senator McCain's service to our nation, and he and his family are in our prayers during this difficult time."

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders declined to comment later Friday on Sadler's remark, saying, "I'm not going to comment on an internal staff meeting."

McCain announced last year that he had been diagnosed with brain cancer and has been spending time with family and loved ones while he receives treatment in Arizona.

"John McCain is a genuine hero -- a man of valor whose sacrifices for his country are immeasurable. As he fights for his life, he deserves better -- so much better," Biden said.

"Given this White House's trail of disrespect toward John and others, this staffer is not the exception to the rule; she is the epitome of it."

Biden's son, Beau Biden, was also diagnosed with and died from the same type of brain cancer McCain is diagnosed.

Biden has made many public statements supporting the McCain family and last visited McCain at his home in Arizona last month, according to McCain's wife, Cindy McCain. In an appearance on "The View" in December, Biden said he and McCain are like "two brothers."

Although they were once political rivals in the 2008 presidential campaign, Biden and McCain have formed a close relationship, with Biden calling McCain "one of my best friends."

Sounds like the WH is more upset that the comment got out to the public than the comment itself.

In leaked conversation, Sarah Huckabee Sanders lambastes White House staffers over leaking details of private meetings - Business Insider

My favorite part is this:

Quote:
Meanwhile, Mercedes Schlapp, the White House strategic communications director, doubled down on her support for Sadler at the meeting.

"You can put this on the record ... I stand with Kelly Sadler," Schlapp said.

A source close to Schlapp later told Axios that "her point was that when one staff member is publicly targeted by other members of the staff, she thinks that's inappropriate and the team should support staffers who are subjected to leaks."
Same person that walked out of the WHCD because she found Michelle Wolf too offensive.

I wish that McCain's wife would gently convince him to bow out gracefully and live his remaining days in peace. Right now he seems to be a very bitter old man. He (seems to) hate Pres. Trump because he won the election for the highest office of the land while he (McCain) lost. Naturally McCain is very upset about his terminal cancer.
McCain also has been blaming his loss on Sarah Palin. Whether this is true or not it seems to be a very rude and hurtful thing to say about Sarah Palin.

Ditto. I've lost a lot of respect for McCain.

Correctly...

This wasn't a tweet...

This wasn't a spokesman...

This was a private White House conversation...Any leaks MUST be more important than the contents of the PRIVATE conversation...

Mr. McCain was a songbird.

BTW, how many of you know that John McCain had his service record permanently sealed as soon as he became a member of congress? Now why would he do that?

I respect John McCain for his military service and believe he is free to have and voice his opinion on topics like torture as someone who suffered through actual torture. However, I believe that his votes show that he is out of touch with conservatives and conservative values.

While I don't care for the leaked opinion of this WH aid and find it deplorable that Kelly Sadler's would say such a thing, I also believe that McCain's time has come and he should bow out gracefully from the Senate. I hope he is able to beat this disease, but he is not doing his constituents service by holding onto his Senate seat while not being able to fulfill his obligations.

I don't understand how a few words from one person gets blown up into this world wide conspiracy......oh wait, cause it can be directed into more Trump hate.
