Default California attorney general threatens legal action if employers assist federal immigr

Not only are employers supposedly to blame for hiring illegal aliens, in California the state will prosecute them for cooperating with Federal authorities as they try to remove illegals from their place of employment. Employers are to act as immigration agents when hiring but defy immigration enforcement for their employees.

Quote:
California Attorney General Xavier Becerra warned businesses on Thursday to keep quiet when talking to federal immigration authorities or face legal ramifications.

Becerra, a Democrat, told California employers that if they assist federal immigration authorities in widespread sweeps they will be in violation of the state’s new law, the Immigrant Worker Protection Act, which aims to protect workers regardless of immigration status.

“It’s important, given these rumors that are out there, to let people know — more specifically today, employers — that if they voluntarily start giving up information about their employees or access to their employees in ways that contradict our new California laws, they subject themselves to actions by my office,” Becerra said during a news conference
That's right, the People's Republic of California sanctuary state demands that employers participate in their open revolt against Federal immigration laws.

Quote:
Under the new law, which seeks to prevent workers from being detained at their workplaces, businesses could face up to a $10,000 fine if they share information on their employees with federal authorities or grant them access to their workers.
Federal authorities are not only denied cooperation by local law enforcement but employers must also participate in obstructing justice. It is another enlightened policy by the Democrat hegemony that has produced the greatest number of poor Americans of any state in the US. Who cares if cheap illegal aliens are undercutting wages and employment for the Californians that need it most. Resist, resist, resist.

The next sucking sound you hear will be the sound of companies abandoning California for better pastures in other states.

One would think it is a "CIVIL RIGHT" of every individual employer to obey the law of the land, ie; Federal laws. I wonder if the ACLU will come to the defense of any employer who obeys federal laws, including cooperation with Federal agents in enforcing said laws.

I doubt that. Many of those are the same people who donate to those left wing loony politicians.

Agreed. Hollywood and the internet giants like what Kalifornica has become. A place where very rich people can pay very poor people to mow their lawns.

Xavier Becerra took over for the ambitious Kamala Harris who now represents this logic in the US Senate.

This primarily apply to farms and construction. Neither of those industry's would exist the same without low paid illegal immigrants.

Is that specifically in the legislation? If so, please post a link so that we can see. However, just like everything else, I suspect this is just your attempt to justify stupidity.

Well, well, well thanks for admitting it's about exploiting cheap illegal aliens to undercut the wages and opportunities of legal residents. Who are the ones hurt by this practice? Why the same struggling mostly minorities working poor the Democrats claim to love.

United Farm Workers founder Caesar Chavez recognized the impact of illegal aliens on wages. That is why he campaigned to close the border. But today's Democrat California only cares about creating a permanent underclass to vote for them.
