NFL rejects Super Bowl ad asking people to stand for anthem — the reason is ironic

It's bad enough players disrespect our country by kneeling for the anthem over fictitious reasons. It's even worse the NFL has taken their side and supported this bs.

The NFL rejected a veteran group’s request to place a full-page ad in the Super Bowl LII program because — ironically — the advertisement requesting that people stand for the playing of the national anthem is too “political” for such an arena.

According to Army Times, Major League Baseball and the National Hockey League both accepted the same #PleaseStand ad submitted to the NFL.

The NFL people are like chimpanzees attempting to fill your head with their logic.

I'm just poking fun at #PleaseStand

It's #PleaseClap

You don't want the NFL to get political, which is fine; but when the NFL turns down a political ad, which it is given the context of the times thanks to both sides of the issue, you get upset? :shrug

Also I'll never understand this "Disrespect" angle. Kneeling during the anthem is not aimed at disrespecting the military, veterans, flag, or our country. It's aimed at our flawed justice system that has failed countless times, especially with minorities, with sometimes little to no repercussions. It was a soldier that moved Colin Kaepernick from sitting out the anthem, to kneeling instead, as a form of protest because it would be both respectful, and would send a message.

On the upcoming episode of HBO's "Real Sports With Bryant Gumbel" (airing Tuesday night at 10 p.m. ET), Boyer reveals what happened in the discussion between the two men.

"We sorta came to a middle ground where he would take a knee alongside his teammates," Boyer says. "Soldiers take a knee in front of a fallen brother's grave, you know, to show respect. When we're on a patrol, you know, and we go into a security halt, we take a knee, and we pull security."

What part of "football is not for politics" don't some people get?

The funniest part is the excuse these numb-nuts give for kneeling. They want us to believe there's some fictitious injustice against blacks in this country.

It's just race-baiting and an excuse to disrespect our flag, country, and men and women in uniform. And the NFL allows it.

Remember when the media and libs were outraged Tim Tebow took a knee and prayed after scoring a touchdown?

Yeah....

Wally, it doesn't matter what the aim is, the fact is that it is disrespectful of the military, veterans, flag, and our country.

It really isn't. Kneeling has always been a sign of reverence.
