I agree. That is why I never advocated for Conyers to be shown the door. If he chooses to leave on his own, that is his decision. But just like Moore, I don't believe he should be forced out unless he is proven guilty of the accusations.

In accordance with society norms of today, I would agree. However, back when this is alleged to have occurred, it was common practice. I was speaking with my nieces husband yesterday about his family. His grandfather began dating his grandmother when he was in his twenties and she was only 14. They married when she was 16. The stated that in that day and age, that was not uncommon.

This is the point I tried to make in another thread. We want to judge the actions of people in the past based upon the societal and social norms of today. If we are being honest with ourselves, we need only look in our own past or in our own families and we would most likely find these same things occurred with the ones we grew up looking up too.
