They had two years with a Democrat president and both houses of Congress with a Democrat majority...even had over a year with a filibuster-proof Senate...They had the chance to do EVERYTHING they complain about now...

...but they we SOOOOO busy pushing healthcare from private to government, they left the other 99% of their agenda on the floor so they can b*tch about it later...

Looks like you drank the NRA cool-aid that says that “that making guns quieter is a simple matter of public health “eh?

I wonder how many survivors of the Route 91 Harvest festival would be alive today if they hadn’t heard the shots and took cover.

Bump stocks liable to be on the way out...

Las Vegas shooting: Republicans open to ban on 'bump-stocks'
Thu, 05 Oct 2017 - "Clearly that's something we need to look into," says House Speaker Paul Ryan of the rapid fire tool.
Quote:
Congress' most powerful Republican says lawmakers should examine "bump-stocks", a rapid-fire accessory used by the gunman in Sunday's Las Vegas massacre. House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan told a radio talk show: "Clearly that's something we need to look into." Texas Senator John Cornyn - the number two Republican in the Senate - has called for hearings into the devices. A bump-stock attaches to the butt of a rifle, allowing the weapon to fire close to the rate of a machine gun. Stephen Paddock, the gunman in Las Vegas, had fixed the accessories to 12 rifles.
Long fight ahead

Analysis by Anthony Zurcher, BBC North America reporter

It appears a move to ban bump-stock devices is picking up steam in Congress. Some normally staunch gun-control opponents seem willing to consider new legislation. The NRA, which opposes just about any new regulations, has gone silent. That's going to change soon. The challenge for gun rights supporters is a bump-stock ban opens the door for a new debate about where to draw the line over limiting a firearm's lethality. For decades it's been at how many bullets can be fired with one trigger pull.

Bump-stocks blur that line. Can you outlaw a device that helps squeeze off rounds more quickly but not think about prohibiting quick-change magazines or limiting their sizes? Or banning pistol grips, which make firing easier? It won't take many Republicans, with the NRA looking over their shoulder, to grind the process to a halt.

Las Vegas shooting: What do we know about Marilou Danley?
Thu, 05 Oct 2017 - The girlfriend of Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock says she knew him as a "kind, caring, quiet man".
Quote:
Marilou Danley, the girlfriend of gunman Stephen Paddock, has become the focus of attention in the US investigation into the Las Vegas mass shooting. Through her lawyer, she expressed shock at what she called the "horrible unspeakable acts of violence" and said she would co-operate with investigators. She said she knew Paddock as a "kind, caring, quiet man. I loved him and hoped for a quiet future together with him". "He never said anything to me or took any action that I was aware of that I understand to be a warning that something horrible like this would happen," she went on to say. Ms Danley's statement came after she arrived back in the US from the Philippines, where she was reportedly born.

She said in her statement that Paddock had surprised her with a cheap ticket to the Philippines two weeks ago, saying he wanted her to visit her family. She confirmed that while she was there he had wired her money - reports say it amounted to $100,000 (£75,400) - and she "worried it was a way for him to break up with me". "It never occurred to me in any way whatsoever that he was planning violence against anyone," she said. Ms Danley has been named a "person of interest" but police have said she is not a suspect and is wanted only for questioning about Paddock.

Ms Danley (left) reportedly met Paddock (right) at a casino in Nevada

Friends and neighbours have described Ms Danley as a warm and chatty person who has lived and travelled around the world. The 62-year-old is believed to have one daughter and a granddaughter. In her statement, she said: "I am a mother and a grandmother and my heart breaks for all who have lost loved ones." She moved to Queensland in Australia some time in the late 1970s, according to Australian media, and married a local man. They lived together for about 10 years until the late 1980s, and it was during this period that she became an Australian citizen. Shortly afterwards she moved to the US where she married American Geary Danley in 1990. In 2015, she and Mr Danley filed for divorce. She appears to have had met Paddock by that stage, as in her divorce papers she listed Paddock's apartment as her address.

Ms Danley has held various jobs over the years, including working for an airline and selling Avon cosmetics, reported The Washington Post. She also worked as a casino hostess attending to "high-limit" players, such as Paddock, whom she reportedly met at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa. US police say she has been living in Nevada with Paddock, who was described as having loved and "doted on" Ms Danley. Her sisters in Australia have since told 7 News they believed he "sent her away" to the Philippines prior to the shooting. Ms Danley is now in US federal agents' custody, and investigators will want to know if she can shed any light on why Paddock carried out the worst mass shooting in recent US history.

NRA back 'bump stock' ban, Trump open to restrictions - Washington Times

NRA back ‘bump stock’ ban, Trump open to restrictions

By S.A. Miller - The Washington Times - Thursday, October 5, 2017

The National Rifle Association joined calls for additional regulation of “bump fire stocks,” the device used in the Las Vegas massacre to produce rapid fire similar to a machine gun.

“The NRA believes that devices designed to allow semi-automatic rifles to function like fully-automatic rifles should be subject to additional regulations,” the NRA and its lobbying arm said in a joint statement.

“Despite the fact that the Obama administration approved the sale of bump fire stocks on at least two occasions, the National Rifle Association is calling on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) to immediately review whether these devices comply with federal law,” it said.

The NRA’s surprising move to back a specific gun-control measure followed lawmakers from both parties voicing support for legislation targeting bump stocks.

President Trump also is open to a ban on bump stocks, said White House press secretary Sarah Sanders.

I'm sure you have heard by now that you can't put silencers on machine guns.

I'll bet your pretty pissed off about Obama green lighting that bump stock huh?

Since we all know it was the bump stock that allowed him to fire so many rounds.

It makes me wonder how many lives would have been saved if Obama had not approved them.

Do you wonder about that? or just the bullshlt silencer thing that the koolaid drinkers are talking about?

You should watch out for that Hillary Kool Aid TD. It gets you every time.
