Default Facing GOP opposition, Senate leaders postpone vote to overhaul Obamacare

I wonder why they postponed it?It's time for Mitch McConnell to send in the troops, the lobbyist.

<Facing a rebellion within their own ranks, Senate Republican leaders on Tuesday postponed a vote to overhaul the 2010 Affordable Care Act until after the July 4th recess.>

<The current proposal by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) would cause an estimated 22 million more Americans to be uninsured by the end of the coming decade while reducing federal spending by $321 billion during that time, the Congressional Budget Office concluded Monday.>

<The forecast by Congress’s nonpartisan budget scorekeepers appeared to rapidly erode Republicans’ confidence in the bill, with at least five GOP lawmakers saying that they would vote against even a procedural motion to start debate.>

<In a sign of the challenge Senate Republicans face in mustering enough votes, Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-Tex.) said the procedural vote is likely to be scheduled for Wednesday rather than Tuesday.>

<Members who have publicly come out in opposition are facing a full-court lobbying press>

With so many new threads each day maybe it would be a good idea to keep topics in the set aside space already in play people.. Just saying..

Like anything with health care should go into the Old Obama Care Topic Area or into the new (made moments ago) GOP Health Care Bills. @

Hopefully one of the moderators will agree with me on this. If not so be it.

YEP! the Dems ****ED up big time when they didn't include the public option of "Medicare FOR ALL".BUTT, that's water over the bridge.

One would think that after eight years +of obstruction, the small R's could find a way to get their agenda thru a Congress that they control.

PLUS a dim-witted president that signs anything put in front of him as long as the cameras are pointed towards him.

Errrr, water under the bridge is the expression treedancer... But your close my friend.

As for the present problem of some members not in step with the GOP Party Health Care plan, great we have a few who can think for themselves. And might worry about their districts not liking this Health Care Plan..

I mean doesn't some in the Donkey Party not step to the tune being played by the DNC?

Surely the DNC has a few who can think by themselves

And we all know that Trump doesn't sign a thing before holding it up to the cameras first, like any school child proud of what they made...

I am very happy that this thing is not being voted on yet as it is nothing but Obamacare light and will hang around the Republicans neck like a boat anchor. As of now, the Democrats own the disaster that is Obamacare and have paid a steep price to get it. The Republicans should learn from that and do what their constituents sent them to DC to do and that is to flat out REPEAL Obamacare and quit buying into the notion that they have to replace it.

And so true. And well expressed.

Yet when back in session they will vote on it anyway. So unless some how the GOP gets it right and that will take a lot more time. Delaying the vote was useless.

Where they failed was all of those years just saying we will replace that messed up Obama Care and not actually doing any studies or research.. And as usual come the time to do something they realize this is harder than we thought..

They know they don't have a fix. They just don't. That is their problem.

The problem is the left wing Democrats broke our health care system, just so they could sit back and bitch and moan about how we are going to fix the mess they created all by them selves. Not one Republican had ANYTHING to do with passing the POS called the ACA. Not one.

The left is pathetic in their intentions. They are in fact more of a problem in our nation today than any other single thing. Worthless obstructionists who need called out for their failures, and punished accordingly.

We would be better off if we banned the left for a time. Until we are out the mess they made.

It seems like the Democrats are missing a huge opportunity by coming up with their own fix to the mess they created. But:

There's no way to fix Obamacare. And both sides know it.
