YET another Knowledgeable appointment made by tRump.Someone give Sessions a clue that there are fifty stars on the United States Flag, one for every state.

<Now, President Trump's attorney general, Jeff Sessions, is suggesting that a judge from Hawaii — which he dismissively labels “an island in the Pacific” — should not be able to strike down Trump's travel ban.>

<The first is that Hawaii is a state and has been since 1959. Dismissing it as “an island in the Pacific” is the kind of thing that will earn you the pleasure of apologizing to an entire state. We'll start the countdown clock.>

<The second is that the judge isn't a Hawaiian judge, per se. Derrick Watson is actually a federal judge who happens to serve on a district court in Hawaii. And in case you were wondering, he has some of that all-important mainland experience and perspective, having worked as a lawyer in San Francisco.>

My what a short memory you have.

That Judge was an Obama appointee, and a personal friend of Obama. If you care to remember Harry Reid tipped the scales of power and lowered the bar for approval to a simple majority, since the Dems back then didn't have the 60 votes necessary to confirm...

So now you get a SCOUTS judge from the right in place, using Harry Reid's own rules...

Democrats are idiots for changing the rules. If they had not, the judge in the OP would never have warmed the bench he now sits upon...

We will kick the Democrats again and again. SO what do they do? move farther left.

This is just too easy....

Give him a break Wally...He's trying his best to place the blame on Harry Reid.

I understand exactly what sessions is saying....And it's very simple...

If you were to have a judge try a case about orange crops, would you have the case tried in FLORIDA? ( ) or MAINE? ( )

Why?...The obvious...The people of Florida (and the local judicial branch) would have a much more, keen sense of the facts of the trial and the consequences of the result of the trial...

This is exactly why the Left shopped Trump's travel ban lawsuit to a place where illegal immigration is hardly a blip on the radar (and Hawaii is one of the most Liberal locales in the US)....

If this ban was in a district near the border in Arizona or Texas, the Left wouldn't have even bothered (unless it went to one of the few Liberal enclaves)...

Having a federal immigration lawsuit in Hawaii is like having a federal air conditioner lawsuit in Alaska...

Last I checked Hawaii is an island.

And it's in the Pacific; unless it packed up and moved.

It is very easy for the clueless to be baffled by the "island in the Pacific" remark.

Whining about the "island in the Pacific" remark is just another pathetic attempt to distract from the judge playing partisan politics from the bench. But hey, can't discuss that the judge's wasn't based on the order but instead on his subjective assessment of intent? No problem, just bray about "disrespect" for Hawaii.

The quote in context:

We are confident that the president will prevail on appeal and particularly in the Supreme Court, if not the Ninth Circuit. So this is a huge matter. I really am amazed that a judge sitting on an island in the Pacific can issue an order that stops the president of the United States from what appears to be clearly his statutory and Constitutional power.

Aside from the aforementioned fact that Hawaii is an island in the Pacific. Actually islands in the Pacific, the statement seems clear.

Just liberals grasping at invisible straws.
