Mainstream means common; the majority. Something uncommon or rare isn't the mainstream.

Seeing Fox News is basically the only right-leaning cable news network, they don't fall into the mainstream category.

main·stream

the ideas, attitudes, or activities that are regarded as normal or conventional; the dominant trend in opinion, fashion, or the arts.
WOW you are delusional. Fox News is the #1 rated cable news channel.

And the only major right-leaning cable news network.

Being one of many opposites doesn't make you mainstream.

You left out ABC and the Washington Post.

Traditional Republicanism is not at all identical to Trumpism (which is certainly not intended as a pejorative term--just a description).

Someone recently suggested that the traditional GOP and the Trumpkins (again, not intended as a pejorative term) should settle upon a trial separation.

Not bad advice, from the traditional GOP's perspective.

Of course, the problem is that demographic trends do not favor the traditional GOP; so it may be in for a fall, any way that it chooses to go.

Nice of you to take the time to help me out with understanding how Trump & fans are out there by themselves as regards to all others groups whom play the same political games..

Although I did know there were some big differences, pjohns you have given me some insight to which I say ..
