#1 on their list should be, "Avoid getting your news from fb."
Seriously nothing you want to espouse is credible:

True but not always the case.... I sure don't want to spend more time looking for these signs but have to now as our society takes another dip towards the bottom.
People playing with the news for no good reason. And it seems to me if I go to a news site that was once a decent source of the news, they should keep these faker's out.

As I use a Win 10 my news app is MSNBC. Yet I copy and paste the headline into another F.F. Browser and use the search bar and pick a story with the same headline plus place the search page at the bottom after the story's link.

And yet I get a member saying it isn't real.

While I see on my local news the same damn news item just as it was posted. Plus I check a few of the news stations and they have the same _____ story with the same title.
So whom is correct? The bold member whom didn't want to hear the truth about her leader Trump or the news I posted?

And this is also the problem. People who defend every thing or word this clown does or says. Just like we had with 8 years of the Progressive Obama Bots.

And like it or not the "R's" are going to pay come election time. As even now they are losing points with many more Americans.

KS., had a recent election to replace a Trump pick and the Dem almost beat the running Republican, who won by a mere 5 percentage points. Way below what was thought to be in a district, that voted for Trump by 66 % 3 months before.
And that is from my local newspaper today. So try to bend this news to fit these Trump Bots reality...

Oh yeah, the problem is those nasty "some people " who dare question our infallible media. Never mind that the NYT, that bastion of journalism, hired a reporter to cover the WH after he was fired from another publication after he got caught submitting his stories to the Clinton campaign for editorial review. Never mind that CNN touted a lurid, false "dossier" smearing Trump or their refusal to cover Susan Rice's political espionage. The notorious some people are undermining the sacred free press.

Gee, how could anyone dispute the doublespeak of political partisans posing as fact checkers. Just incorporate "fact" into the name and any Left wing propaganda is "valid". It is a remarkable transition for the Left to claim they represent freedom while bending a knee to authoritarian censorship.

Tips to Spot False News?

Just wait for google.inc "fact checkers" and the gov't watchdogs to tell you what's true.
At least that's what they want.

During the campaign and even now they have seen the user generated "news" -which is pretty alarming- shared and reshared as if it was true.

It's funny how you respond but you leave out crucial elements in your reply that expose the true nature of your partisan attack. With one of your eyes held tightly shut, you only look at half the picture and avoid addressing things like Fox News hiring directly from the has-been political pool of the Republican party.

Let's put it this way.
What fact checking organizations do you like?

If it is a PW post or thread from Senior, Saltwn, FI66, Mikeyy (especially Mikeyy) et.al. it is likely false partisan news.

From the OP...

Quote:
If shocking claims in the headline sound unbelievable, they probably are.
The problem, here, is that partisans don't believe any headline is "shocking" for the other side of the aisle...

If it's their OWN side of the aisle, they hem and haw (or explain away), but if the headline says someone on the OTHER side of the aisle met with aliens to divvy up the world while sleeping with children and has a secret plan to lock up Americans, they think "That's 100% believable!"...
