Flashback: Clinton Says Trump Might Be Avoiding Releasing Taxes To Hide 'That He's Paid Nothing in Federal Taxes' - Breitbart

Fact is, the return thingy has always been a "look over there" issue.
LOL not even that Breitbart article backs you up.. Have fun with your sophistry.

So your agreeing that Trump paid his fair share? much more than Buffet, right? and the left loves Buffet, cause his secretary pays more than he does.
Do you see the point of hypocrisy?

Got the blinders on I see. Just can't admit that Clinton lied about Trump and his taxes. Are you a little embarrassed for Rachel Maddow and her breaking news?

He said at the debate "That makes me smart".

So according to his own comments guess what?

And I'm amused by how much you want my opinion on this issue. I have never been in the "SHOW US YOUR TAXES TRUMP" crowd.
The fact that some are now available is interesting (more interesting to others) but I have no comment at the moment.

My OP was about how no one on the left had said a word about the bombshell revelations they had promised would come. So was the CONTENT, of my tome.

What you did was change the title to reflect the left's approach to the headline. Your alterations make it now appear that the White house released it. An alteration from the truth.

As I exampled here.
Donald Trump Reveals Tax Records, Paid $38 Million in 2005 | TMZ.com

The White house did not reveal Trump's 2005 tax returns. The responded to the revelations by MSNBC.
Bad form on your part.

I seldom read you vapid musings anymore unless they apply to me, which in this case they certainly did. And for the record,,,; I accept your limp wristed slap for what it is.

This was the liberal bombshell? That Trump is rich, made 153 million, and paid 38 million in taxes?

So much for the, "Trump is a tax dodger" conspiracy theory libs tried to make peeps believe.

Those pop-pop firecrackers 5-year-old kids use are louder than this "scandal.

Let's look at some highlights of how libs embarrassed themselves.

Quote:
Hours after a much-touted MSNBC “scoop” revealed part of President Trump's 2005 tax returns -- and in the process, undermined the left's speculation that he was a tax dodger --
Quote:
DCReport.org reporter David Cay Johnston revealed 2005 Trump tax documents to MSNBC host Rachel Maddow. Johnston said he found the president’s 1040 form “in the mail,” a story Trump wasn’t buying as he took aim at Maddow’s parent network.

“Does anybody really believe that a reporter, who nobody ever heard of, ‘went to his mailbox’ and found my tax returns?
Quote:
The tax documents, which showed Trump made $153 million in 2005 and paid $36.5 million in income taxes ($38 million in total taxes), did not exactly amount to a bombshell. His effective rate was close to 25 percent. It appeared so favorable to the president that Johnston -- a longtime reporter who won a Pulitzer Prize in 2001 -- speculated to Maddow it was possible “Donald sent this to me.”
Quote:
Maddow argued the returns were “not illegally published” and said MSNBC merely exercised its First Amendment right to publish information in the public interest. The unauthorized publishing of federal tax returns is a criminal offense that can be punished by five years in jail or a fine of up to $5,000.

Most of the post-reveal chatter focused on how Maddow overhyped the report and took too long -- about 20 minutes -- to even break the story on her own show, a delay that allowed other publications and TV shows to report on the tax news ahead of her.

The "Legal Insurrection" website mocked Maddow with the headline "Rachel Maddow's career committed suicide live on national TV tonight."

"If anything, Maddow helped Trump by showing he paid $38 million in taxes on $150 million of income. Hardly the narrative the Democrats like,"
William A. Jacobson wrote.

Donald Trump Jr. sent out a slew of tweets lambasting the Maddow segment and highlighting the millions of dollars in taxes his dad was proven to have paid. The narrative that Trump paid little or no taxes has dogged Trump since the GOP primary battle.
Quote:
The journalist who obtained a portion of President Trump’s 2005 tax returns made a big splash on MSNBC Tuesday night as he analyzed the two-page summary on air. [color=redThe same journalist, though, apologized back in 2011 for an erroneous – and ultimately withdrawn – report claiming News Corp made billions on income tax refunds.

Quote:
David Cay Johnston at the time published a Reuters column saying the company, then the parent company of Fox News, made nearly $5 billion in income tax refunds. He later admitted being wrong and apologized for apparently misreading a financial report.
Quote:

Reuters issued a notice in July 2011 withdrawing the column. The news service said: “Please be advised that the David Cay Johnston column published on Tuesday stating that Rupert Murdoch’s U.S.-based News Corp made money on income taxes is wrong and has been withdrawn. News Corp’s filings show the company changed reporting conventions in its 2007 annual report when it reversed the way it showed positive and negative numbers.”
Quote:
He said he found the documents in the mail, speculating that Trump himself may have leaked them. The documents showed Trump paid $36.5 million in income taxes that year, on over $150 million in income – undermining suggestions from critics that he may have avoided paying taxes.
Quote:
President Donald Trump may have pulled the most epic political trolling since, well since the last time he did something like this to a political opponent. MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow was set to release a big scoop about Trump’s taxes Tuesday, when the White House went and released them right before her show began.
Quote:
She later added the clarification explaining what she had in her possession, writing, “What we’ve got is from 2005… the President’s 1040 form… details to come tonight 9PM ET, MSNBC.”
Quote:
Maddow went on with the report, with a lengthy introduction that was widely mocked because she apparently didn’t know that her scoop had been completely undermined.

Social media erupted with jokes about her big scoop being completely undone by Trump.

Uh? That makes him smart?

Utterly stupid would be to pay more than you need to. I would not vote for utterly stupid.
