Those that mildly acquiesce? They're the good ones to you.
Those that put up a fight? They earn your ire and disdain.

You and cnredd are eager to create strawman arguments on this thread.
You cannot pretend to speak for why liberals "don't like him". It's a pure strawman.

I am a liberal.
I just told you my thoughts on him.
But instead of listening to actual liberal thoughts, you ignore them and make up your own claims.

And of course, neither you nor anybody else will address the fact that Colmes admitted he was a moderate...
Colmes told USA Today that he considers himself "quite moderate."[8]
And what, pray tell, is wrong with being a moderate?

You elitism is showing by that stupid remark, "But instead of listening to actual liberal thoughts"... Did someone bestow upon you the title 'actual liberal'?

P.S. We can't all be extremists.

And regarding your strawman on "didn't respect", I appreciate him for what he was.
Some people built up him up as a strawman to pretend he was more than he was. THAT is what I see as problematic and dishonest.

Geesh, you are an angry, bitter old lady. DAMN, the dude just died and died young, only 66 yrs old. Is it too much to ask for just a smidgen of empathy, sympathy, compassion for his family?

I enjoyed his and Hannity's banter back in the day, they always looked like they were having a good time even in disagreement. He will be missed.

Nothing, if one is honest about being a moderate.
And if others are honest about saying "that guy is a moderate" instead of mislabeling him as a liberal...

Read the context.
I was replying to somebody with those words. My words were written in the context of that conversation.

I was responding to HJ who said:
HJ
Most libs didn't like him because he thought for himself, didn't carry the Democrats' water, and wasn't completely bat-sh*t crazy.
HJ's assessment was pure horse crap.
He's pretending to speak for liberals when he's wrong in his assessment.
That was the context of my words.

Does anyone know why Alan Colmes died? He wasn't that old.
Hannity intimated that he had been ill for quite some time but the
statement released by the family said, "brief illness".

Cancer?

Had to look it up. Looks like lymphoma.

Thanks Hairy!

Wow, look how flipping mean spirited the Left was to Alan Colmes

Another example of libs acting like...libs.

"We don't think Colmes was a liberal extremist like the rest of us so we'll attack him after his death."

Classless fuqs.

Sean Hannity absolutely destroys liberal magazine writer for bashing recently passed Alan Colmes – TheBlaze

Quote:
Colmes was the most absurd, useless, and mocked television personality in America for many years, precisely because he was nice. In the context of Fox News, being a nice guy — and a ‘liberal’ nice guy at that — meant being a buffoon, and a patsy. Colmes not only played the part to perfection — he defined it

While Colmes may not have been a genius, he wasn’t a complete moron either; in short, he was smart enough to know he was being used, and to take the money that his services demanded. If this is something less than morally reprehensible, it is still pretty gross.
