People have said not to just dismiss the right as stupid, as it's polarizing and you won't get through to them that way, etc. But it's hard to imagine that someone with even average intelligence could be so lacking in self-awareness as they are.

We also made a commitment to American military personnel, but I don't see Starbucks making a big to do about hiring 10,000 veterans.

How many did Trump hire?

Many have a program for hiring veterans. It's a wee bit different from proclaiming "We will hire 10,000 veterans" at a hot political moment.

They can hire whomever they want, but grabbing their 15 minutes of fame on the back of this says more than I believe they expected.
