Default Company Trump attacked announces it will lay off workers

I don't feel sorry one bit for Boeing. They've been ripping off the government for a long time and they've finally realized there's a new sheriff in town that isn't gonna put up with the bs anymore.

This is gonna be a great 4 years (hopefully 8).

Company Trump attacked announces it will lay off workers – TheBlaze

Defense and aerospace industry giant Boeing announced Monday that it will be laying off a large portion of its workforce in early 2017.

From the Wall Street Journal:

Boeing Co. said Monday it would launch a voluntary layoff program early next year and may resort to compulsory job cuts to help trim costs at its commercial jetliner arm.

The company expects to have cut employment at the Boeing Commercial Airplanes by 8% this year compared with 2015, but flagged what it termed as “hesitation” in buyers of its big twin-aisle jets.

“While we have made progress in reducing costs and improving affordability, we will need to do more in 2017,” Boeing Vice Chairman Ray Conner and Kevin McAllister, who succeeded him as head of the jetliner business, said in a note to staff.

Boeing had been a target of President-elect Donald Trump, who criticized the Air Force One contract it has with the federal government:

Boeing’s stock dipped after the tweet, prompting many to express concerns about government interference in the free market once Trump assumes office. Some are already saying that Boeing is purposely laying off workers so that Trump can be blamed, while others, predictably, are blaming Trump for the layoffs. Conservative talker Rush Limbaugh even opined approvingly that Trump was targeting the company because it had donated to the Clinton Foundation.

The real test will come once Trump assumes office and we see whether he’ll continue using the massive power of the federal government to bully private companies.

And the right is applauding ...

Free Market? Government should stay out of it?
Unless, of course, Trump disagrees and then he can throw out fake numbers which the right doesn't even care about...

Perhaps this will be instrumental to the Trump presidency.
Trump sees a company which is actively in trouble / layoffs
Boeing plans to cut up to 8,000 airplane jobs: sources | Reuters
(Note article is March 2016)

He finds some excuse to blast a dumb tweet about them. Right thinks that American companies having problems is great! Facts need not apply.
Make America Great Again with layoffs!

He gets his followers to think he's doing great by spending MILLIONS to save a few hundred jobs ...
... and they also think he's doing great when another company loses thousands of workers ...

Boy you lefties are really something. On other threads you are saying Obama is responsible for the stock market rallies after Trump was elected which culminated into interest rates being raised for the 1st time in Obamas reign. I think one of you scientists even said that everything that happens before Jan 20th is because of Obamas economy. But when it come to Boeing today, it is Trumps economy. How can you guys even LOOK at your selves? Your a mess, you guys are just a bowl of frustration, hypocrisy, condescension. Pull yourselves together will ya?

Boeing isn't failing because of two airplanes. Or was there enough fat in the contract to make up for their losses elsewhere?

Are they like GM and need the gubmit to bail them out.

It's not the government's job to bolster a private company's bottom line with a fat calf contract. The President is supposed to husband the nation's resources. Trump seems keen to do so.

I see more of this coming. As for Boeing, they will have to be able to bid on new aircraft for the military, where our nation needs ( and Trump plans) to to be spending the money. So why are they planning layoffs?

As for Trump, he owns Boeing products so they ought to be satisfied with that. And get their pencils sharpened and come back with realistic estimates in the new air Force one twins.

First off, I didn't give Obama credit for December's stock market.
Reread my posts.

Secondly, the interest rate has been raised twice under Obama. Once in 2015 and again in 2016.

So, nothing but personal attacks and nothing topical to say?
You don't even try to link your derailment attempt to even any mention of Boeing, do you...

Who are you even talking to with this?

Who said that Boeing was failing because of two airplanes?

And when has "fat in the contract" been shown?
Are you blindly assuming Trump's ignorant tweet where he got the numbers all screwed up in the first place?
Or is this another "blame the victim" approach whereby if a company falls in the woods and there's no Democrat to blame, you blame the company?

Who said anything about a bail out?

So let's see if we can evaluate the score here.
Trump saves a few hundred jobs at the cost of taxpayer millions.
Thousands of jobs he just blames the company involved.

Is that what Obama should have been doing this whole time? Blaming the companies that were not providing the jobs?

I do too.
Trump promises to save taxpayer jobs. And does nothing while Repubs cheer and proclaim that's how it should be.
Under Obama the blame rest solely with Obama.
Under Trump, the blame will rest with anybody but Trump.

The right suffers from lack of reading comprehension.

Did you even bother to read the article?
He's not blaming Trump.
He's talking about the situation Trump will "inherit".
Along with a deeply divided country, the worst income inequality since at least the 1920s, and a crumbling infrastructure, Trump will inherit a 15-year-old, apparently never-ending worldwide war.
And considering Trump has decided to skip so many intelligence briefings, it's a legitimate question to ask whether Trump is aware what the U.S. is bombing.

And what the hell does that article have to do with GM?
Or are you guys realizing how shallow your tactics are and are trying to derail a thread that one of your own right-wingers started?
