In other news, 5 government soldiers were killed and 16 wounded yesterday as pro-Russia forces attempted to overrun the town of Svitlodarsk in eastern Ukraine. A suspected cyber-hack at the northern power substation near Novi Petrivtsi in Ukraine knocked out power for sections of the capital city of Kyiv last night.

Since the downing of the Russian plane, there has been discussions between Turkey and Russia and a meeting is being held today that includes Iran. I can see why the assassination is being characterized as a provocation.
