Over 60% of China's energy is generated by coal with another 9% by NG or biofuel. Solar accounts for less than 2%. Hardly something to be ecstatic over.

Last I heard, China is still building coal fired generators.

China also has far less electricity transmission capability. So individual units make more sense. Particularly in the rural interior areas.

Regarding climate change and greenhouse gas emissions, many US businesses are objecting to PE Trump's initiative to withdraw from the Paris Agreement ...

Exactly what does the Accord require the USA to do? How will the Accord be funded?

I'd say, start with those who want to stay in it, and tell them they, personally and via their corporations, will be funding it..... let's see where their support goes after that.

I believe you'll accept the fact that the American people both want and need electrical power. If not I'm sure I can easily document that fact.

Now what I won't accept is that the American people want unnecessary pollution, acid rain, contributions to global warming, toxic pollution of our rivers and the toxic pollution of the ground water all of which are a result of burning coal. I'm going to ask you to document that because I don't believe you can.

I'm not a "liberal Democrat" because I'm a Libertarian that believes in Natural Law that's the foundation for the Natural Rights of the People/Person that the government of the United States was created to protect. To spoil (pollute) or destroy nature is a violation of the Natural Rights of the People/Person.

No One Has A Right to Pollute.

While some pollution is inevitable the express purpose of our government, based upon the ideology of the United States, and protected by the Constitution, is to prevent any unnecessary pollution being created by any person or industry in the United States.

Republicans like to claim they support the Constitution and the original intent of the founders but when it comes to the violations of the Natural Rights of the People/Person that was the original intent of the founders and compliance with the US Constitution they always stand opposed to both.

While the specific protection of the Natural Rights of the People/Person related to the unnecessary pollution caused by the burning of coal is not enumerated that protection exists and is enumerated by the Ninth Amendment.

This amendment was specifically included by James Madison to address situations just like we have today where the burning of coal, and the unnecessary pollution it creates, violates the Natural Rights of the People/Person in the United States.

Original Intent and Constitutional Enumeration is what Republicans claim to want in a Supreme Court justice.... which is a lie.
