But I can't help but wonder if he's just plain floundering under the newly developed attention. His quote from a couple years ago regarding Fannie and Freddie's status has hopefully become infamous.
And of course, I imagine blaming Republicans to cover your own %@#$-up has got to be a plus for him...

I think I would be either fascinated or mortified to know how many people fell for his recent b.s. statement.

Frank is playing to his constituency here, but he is correct that the Republicans are blaming this on poor people, when we all know someone who is not what you could call poor, but bought a 300 thou house when they could only afford a 100 thou.
The fact we are talking about such figures boggles the hell out of my mind. I haven't seen a house except maybe a movie star mansion that is worth 100 thousand bucks.
But that was the perception which is what all sales are based on.
Good. Still you and I can add and subtract and we know we can afford X but not X times 3. Who would take such a chance? Someone who was looking to turn this house over and those were mostly not poor people.
But they might be poor now. That makes me smile
