I'm not. But it is not equal rights to grant "special rights" to people due to their perversions. Namely "Gay-Marriage".

Marriage has traditionally been a religious institution. Gov't should have no say it in what so ever. However, gov't go involved in marriage to limit it by race, to keep whites and blacks from marrying. Gov't should have been reeled in at that point, but it was not.

That being said, marriage by definition is a union between one man and one women in the eyes of God. When gov't stepped in, yet again and decided to redefine this institution, they have once again carved out special rights for the gay community.

It is not the place of the gov't to tell churches that their institution of marriage is no longer valid in our country.

If 2 men or 2 women wish to live together, have at it. I would not be opposed to civil unions for the sake of fiscal issues. But to redefine Marriage is flat out wrong and immoral.

Then why did you make the claim?

No, special rights would be only heterosexuals having State recognized marriages.

Government has been involved in Marriage since The Code of Hammurabi and mostly dealt with the transference of property amongst the upper classes and royalty.

Again gays getting married is not a special right. Only heterosexuals getting married would be a special right though.

It is not the place of the gov't to tell churches that their institution of marriage is no longer valid in our country.

You don't own the word "marriage".

For what it's worth, the most anti-gay and racist person I've ever known (an extended family member) is a liberal democrat.

It's funny that you claim BOTH groups getting marriage rights is a "special right".
But if it's ONLY YOUR group getting marriage rights, you don't think that is a "special right".

"Gov't should have been reeled in at that point" ???
ROFLMAO!!!
What the heck do you think you're even talking about here.

FOR DECADES straights have enjoyed a list of over 1,000 rights and privileges associated with marriage. Rights and privileges that have been used and enjoyed over the years...
But now that [strike]blacks want to use the public swimming pool[/strike, you want to shut it down.

Actually, the definition of marriage is:
a (1) : the state of being united to a person of the opposite sex as husband or wife in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law (2) : the state of being united to a person of the same sex in a relationship like that of a traditional marriage <same-sex marriage>

What you think your god tells you is your business and you should not force it to restrict other people.
Just like when a Muslim has their god telling them how to live their lives, they should not force their beliefs to restrict other people.

Or maybe you believe only in the second part but not the first?

Considering the government never said this, your fear is unwarranted.
