McCain spent three days in Bermuda in August 2007 meeting business and political leaders, and while there was quoted by the island's main newspaper, the Royal Gazette, as promising to defend tax breaks for insurance companies that locate there.
"The industry, the reinsurance that's had such phenomenal success has been good for both nations," McCain was quoted as saying in an Aug. 23, 2007 article. "I would oppose any measures that would upset that." Biden: McCain shielded offshore tax loopholes - Yahoo! News This will probably just make some here say. Oh the Dems do it too. Nope, the Dems promise to take what you get in order to line theirs, Reps. promise to let you keep what you get in order to line theirs. Yeah, I know this concept confuses you, but that's why you're Dems., you simply do not understand basic economics. Putting money into an economy builds the economy, taking money out of an economy destroys the economy. Again, I know that this is confusing to you, but if you think really hard, you'll get it.

The problem with the argument that democrats don't understand the economy is clear. Historically the economy has done better under democrats. In addition, the republicans fail to see that by spending dollars that were taxed, that money is going back into the economy and being sent through twice, meaning double benefit to the economy.
Taxes aren't bad for the economy as a whole, taxes are merely bad in certain cases. But, if we as a society want the government to do something, we have the responsibility to pay for it. We can't expect private industry to take care of the masses as it's private industry that's promoted the current economic crisis and past economic rapes of the American public. There is a fine balance, and it takes a moderate like Bill Richardson to execute.
