Aaron Spelling's Widow Moves To Condo, Reflecting Housing Downturn

Quote:
The pending transfer of the widow of television producer Aaron Spelling to a condo unit from a mansion reflects the downturn of the American economy and the real estate market.

Candy Spelling, when Aaron was still alive, lived with her husband for almost two decades in a 56,500-square foot French chateau-style mansion which had a wine-tasting room, bowling lanes and silver, china and gift-wrapping rooms. Aaron was the man behind hit TV series like "Charlie's Angels" and "Seventh Heaven."

Recently she bought a high-end condo unit for $47 million at The Century in Los Angeles, which has identified wealth with estate living, not a high-rise lifestyle. The 140-unit building is still under construction. Spelling will have two penthouse floors measuring 16,500 square feet, which boils down to $2,848 per square foot.
get that folks?...The media wants you to be so scared of this horrible economy that's EASILY 74 times worse than 1929 because Aaron Spelling's widow had to move DOWN to a $47 million condo...

It's a much more convenient way to live. Socializing, shops and services are more accessible in this area of the city and business is always going on nearby. Being alone in a big old house with nothing but servants around isn't the kind of lifestyle she'd probably enjoy. When Aaron was alive and Tori lived at home they provided a kind of 'gravity' which assured there was a never ending stream of beautiful, exciting, interesting, vital, fun and important people visiting who would talk about interesting things and who were involved in interesting things. She played her role as gracious wife, mother and host and no doubt, enjoyed it.

Now that Tori has her own family, and Aaron is but a loving memory, she has no need for that big old house which may only serve as a reminder of how alone she now is.

But that's just my 2.

Who knows? A handsome younger man may be in her future once she gets set up in what amounts to "a great hotel suite."
