Williams isn't Hollywood - that counts him out for that job, it's a position for a comedian and someone who can plug movies and is familiar with the movie industry. Even Johnny Carson got booted by the movie behind the scenes power brokers, when they tossed him from hosting the Academy Awards, because he was television - not Silver Screen. The fact that all the movie stars plugged their new movies on his show regularly didn't make any difference. Williams would be a huge dud in the position. Fallon? OK - but the guy who got the job, than was tossed, was Conan. I always felt that "Wheel Of Fortune" host Pat Sayjack would have made a good replacement as host of "The Tonight Show." STFN
