Russia: Poland risks attack because of US missiles

U.S. officials have said the timing of the deal was not meant to antagonize Russian leaders at a time when relations already are strained over the recent fighting between Russia and Georgia over the separatist Georgian region of South Ossetia.

At this point it's just bullying talk that we should respond to with an accelerated deployment in Poland and any other nation we can put missiles in. The Bear's hibernation is over with and the USSR is attmpting to resurrect itself. I'm starting to think that these guys will never learn. Russia is becoming an oil producing nation to be reckoned with, but that only lasts as long as demand is high. If they run out of oil $, they're going to end up right back where they started. The good news is that Russia is still a more free and open nation than it was during the Soviet era and as long as this lasts, I think that there's going to be some limits on what they will do. Watch for a shutdown of non-official news sources in Russia as the first sign of this last hope for the Russian people to die.
