When I worked in a nursing home near Washington, I got to meet some pretty interesting folks. One was a resident who worked for years as a bar maid in a place a lot of Politicians frequented. No, actually I worked there before and during the Bush Sr. stint in the white house. And her time in the limelight was more or less the 50's and sixties. The Kennedy era and whatnot. So just think of the most tried and true figures from that time period. And picture them as she did. Under the table and engaged in other nameless occupations that go on in a bar.

I can imagine the paparazzi with a 90s mentallity in that place during the 60s...

I'm not sure if everyone looks at these things the same way I do.

The affair, in and of itself, never really bothers me.

It's the denials. Lying to your spouse doesn't necessarily mean you're going to lie to your constituents about public affairs (er, so to speak). Lying to the public about your having had an affair is what but me.
