LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Thomas Beatie, who was born a woman but after surgery and hormone treatment lives as a man, has given birth to a girl at an Oregon hospital, People magazine reported on Thursday.

Beatie, 34, who kept female reproductive organs when he legally became a man 10 years ago, confirmed the birth to the magazine.

The baby, conceived through artificial insemination using donor sperm and Beatie's own eggs, was born on June 29 and Beatie and the baby are "healthy and doing well," People reported.

"The only thing different about me is that I can't breast-feed my baby. But a lot of mothers don't," People quoted Beatie as saying. He has had his breasts surgically removed.

And some say the freaks live in California.

Sme of them live about 15 minutes from where I do. The stupid thing about this is that the press keeps calling her a man. If she's pregnant, that pretty much makes it a lock that she's female. A double-boobotomy and an addadictomy does make her man any more than dressing a pig like a chorus girl makes it a Rockette.

Some people are messed up. The child in question deserves a decent upbringing.

There is something a little worse. No parents at all. This Guy/Gal might be a good parent. I'm sure they'll pull through. As long as people who have opinions keep them to themselves.

It doesn't matter what someone "legally" is, as seeing as she is genetically a women, biologically a women. The test is not what she wants to be, but what she is. Can her new penis successfully enpregnant another women? No, it is only good for aiming while peeing.
