Ariz. gov rejected in offer to reopen Grand Canyon

Ariz. gov rejected in offer to reopen Grand Canyon

Gov. Jan Brewer wants the stateís signature national park reopened and has offered to pay for it with state money, but her proposal was rejected Thursday by a park official who said that as long as the federal government remains shut down, such a plan isnít an option.

I advise Arizona to open it anyway, and see if the Feds can round up enough "essential" employees to do anything about it.

Or maybe they could seize it as abandoned property?

Folks, we are being played for fools by the Democrats.

It's astounding to me how the govt thinks we can't go take a walk somewhere without them. I have a national park in my back yard. It's closed. Cause... you know... I can't walk in the woods without the government. F*cking idiots. I can walk into the goddamn park less than a mile behind my house. But Oooo... no, can't walk in on any 'official' roads. I need the government for that! :rolls

It becomes a liability. Especially since search and rescue operations are suspended. And while YOU can do that, think about the city boys that'll be lost and dead within a matter of hours.

I can only speak with authority about the Forest Service, which I used to work for. But I'll bet that the search and rescue services are local, not Federal. I would also guess that any arrangement for the State of Arizona to operate the park would include a provision for them to assume liability.

As for keeping city boys from getting lost and winding up dead, why do you hate vultures?

The "city boys" can still get into the park. It's not like it's fenced in. And no, I doubt they would get lost. And if they do, so ****ing what? That's a risk they take on themselves and then LOCAL rescue would come out for their dumb asses

All this because of Obama's shlt fit.

As for local rescue coming to the aid of some lost child, Obama would probably manage to find some federal workers to go wire up the entrances shut to teach those city boys a lesson.

Voters eyes are finally starting to open and realize what the Democrats are doing. This thing is going to turn on the Demos quickly and they aren't smart enough to realize it.

Gerrymandering? What does that have to do with keeping the Grand Canyon open?
