Default Obama to call for ‘pause’ in Syria strike vote amid negotiations

pause for the cause

Obama to call for ?pause? in Syria strike vote amid negotiations | Fox News

speech should be under way shortly (9pm (ET).

Live Video - C-SPAN | C-SPAN

I urge everyone who is going to watch the news at that time to consider watching just the straight up speech (they will have a follow up Live reaction to the speech) on CSpan.

Don't think I'll be watching, if I'm in the mood for fiction there are some Micheal Moore fauxumentaries I haven't seen yet.

I was going to watch it, but I don't want to have to replace my TV again.

He laid it out pretty clear. Seems straight forward when we ignore all the spin. It could end up well.

I got a question for you Mikeyy.....

Are you up for this war president.....?

He ran against Bush on that very same topic and Obama has been the same guy for the last six years....

Obama bitched pissed and moaned about GITMO for years but, has done absolutely nothing in his six years on that issue as LOTFW.....

I sure hope you can see that large amount of hypocrisy coming from our current administration....

This Syria deal is nothing but a political turd.....

And we all have to pay for another billion dollar ride to stupidly playing world police on our dime....

I'm ashamed of Obama and I voted for him in 08.....

I think a lot of people projected on to Obama what they wanted him to be. I see often that his views on subjects are exaggerated. I was for a red line on chemical weapons for the same reasons Obama spoke about tonight. I am not for going to war but I did want some Tomahawks sent into some of his positions.

This stuff is all weird because of our history of mistakes. From the gulf of Tonkin to Iraq. Thousands have died because of stupid mistakes. I get all of that. It's pretty clear Assad used these weapons. I think we should draw a line on this sort of weapon if we can.

As far as hypocrisy goes, I don't know a politician how hasn't been wrong or hypocritical. I know pols are people. McCain said Iraq would be very quick, Rummy said the same. Everybody says something. When Obama said their was a red line with chemical weapons it seemed like a normal thing for an American president to say. Especially when you have people like McCain on every sunday show saying we need to arm the rebels. Nobody said a thing about Obama's comment until Assad actually did it and then all of the sudden it became a horrible thing that Obama said.

You are not happy with Obama because he isn't what you wanted. I have issues with Obama on other issues. But we have choices in this country and mine was between McCain and Obama. We already know McCain would have already had us in Syria with that freak show Palin at his side. So I think I did damn good.

Romney was more hawkish on arming the rebels as well. So you wanted someone who wouldn't get us into those things and that's what you got. But that doesn't mean we do nothing when it is called for. IMHO

So that's my take.
