Will the Syrian Al Qaeda Rebels who Obama loves so much give up their
chemical weapons?

I'm just glad to see that there may be a way out without military action.

it reminds me of the Cuban missile crises in that they claimed they didn't till it was proved that they did and we have our launch ready till they back down.
but I can't help but think ___________
The USSR was lying it's azz off in the 70s and 80s and we believed that too. Reagan started the star wars sh*t that cost us an arm and a leg but (although I think definitely we could already take them down) it publicized the fact we had better arms.
and you wonder where that star wars money really went but that's another thread. At least the boasting did have an effect.

Maybe but Obama seems determined to take military action. I'm still nervous.

sw, the system is up and running. What do you think they are using for missile defense for our country?

I actually was thinking that.

Bush pushed and pushed and achieved a positive result with regards to inspectors in Iraq. In that case, the inspectors identified he had no WMDs.
If things had stopped there, IMO it would have been a relative success.

But instead, we invaded anyways. And then confirmed that Iraq never had any WMDs in the time-frame we claimed they did in order to justify the invasion.

I'm more nervous about Russia & Syria trying to pull a fast one on this issue.
Claiming they'll comply, and then trying to work around it anyways...
IMO, that's more likely.

oh I believe they did and moved them. not the chemicals themselves or if so they would be infective due to shelf life. but the components enabling the manufacture yes. I also believe we found some and never told for many reasons. and some could have been stolen or shipped elsewhere but Syria has always been anti American throughout this 30 year time frame

Sounds like something a Parisian would say in 1940.

France declared war on Germany in 1939.
