Your attempt at an abortion analogy shows that people disobey the law. An appropriate anaology would be often heard asssertion that if abortions were restricted or made illegal it would force women to get them from back alley criminals. Likewise if guns are restricted too severly or banned criminals will be empowdred.

I know this is basically talking to the wall, but realistically nobody is talking about "banning" guns.
And "restricted too severely" isn't realistically an issue either...

There's a phrase about bringing a knife to a gun fight.
There is no phrase about bringing a 10 clip gun to a 50 clip gun fight.
If you've got a guy trying to rob you with a gun, is that guy going to be anymore intimidated between having an "assault weapon" on his victim, or a revolver?

I don't believe it happened. Chicago has very mean and very strict no nonsense gun control laws that make even the Mexican cartel guys crap their panties.

I think I would rather be shot dead than be forced to live in Chicago.
