That depends, doesn't it? Does the company require the worker to purchase his own hard hat or do they provide them?

Doesn't matter. It's not any of the government's business for one thing, and secondly, it doesn't cut their pay in half.

The government is needed to keep business in line. It is NOT self-correcting. Sexually transmitted disease prevention is EVERYBODY'S BUSINESS. California voters proved that.

Honestly boys. What is your objection to condoms? Selfishness?

"People like me" vote. This was a ballot measure. It was not one in MY community. So I didn't vote it in, but I see the wisdom in it.
