I would also like any of my taxes that goes into schools, welfare, and any other program I do not use.

When should I expect my check?
I think you misunderstand what I'm saying. Home schooling parents still have to pay school tax. The money is distributed to various places. One of the places some of it is distributed is to pay each school a certain amount for each child who is enrolled.
The school that homeschooled child would have gone to does not get the allotment for that child. That child's parents do still pay school tax. Which is as it should be as I stated previously.

I have yet to see a home schooled kid get the social skills that they need to succeed through home school alone.

I don't doubt the intelligence, but the parents should be held to the same standards as the teachers. Standardized tests, benchmarks... blah blah blah and the whole bit.

I can agree with some of your suggestions. Improvement is always needed in education.
I'm sure your views are predjudiced by your experience as are mine.
As for the little dorks. That may be due to a lot of factors.
Also there are people with one kind of neurosis living in the city, while a whole other set of quirks belong to country folk. These two categories are broad, but when you think about it there are many more lifestyles that separate people's attitudes and idiosyncracies.
I think the way different people view home schooling vs social schooling comes from how they see themselves. And what environment they themselves thrive in.

You're misreading...I'm saying the opposite...

DON'T pay into a monopoly...If there ARE options, then taxes for education should be taken...But if the state FORCES home-schooling to be "credentialed" to THEIR specifications (with no public vote to decide what is considered "credentialed"), then they should be able to disagree with their paycheck if they so choose...
