Correct. The idea that females should look, act, and dress a certain way and should restrict their public activities and their interactions with others in order to avoid rape is indeed nonsense.
It doesn't help, and even if it did, it's not worth it.

So, if you're drifting off to sleep at night and you hear a noise outside your window, is the thought of a man breaking in and raping you one of the first things you think of?

If you're going to your car in a parking garage and you see a man walking twenty or so feet behind you, is the threat of being raped the first thing that pops into your head?

If you're driving home from work and get hit by a drunk driver, how many of your friends are going to view you differently? How many are going to think that you must have done something to cause it, and therefore deserved it?

If, when arriving home from work, you stupidly forget to sit in your car for a few moments and check for signs that might indicate someone hiding, would you consider that being forced to the floor, having your clothes ripped off and your anus and/or your mouth forcefully penetrated by a man's penis to be a suitable punishment?

Because that is the punishment when women do something stupid. Sometimes just being stupid enough to be female.

So if your boss asks you to stay late to help finish up a big project, you are going to say 'no' because saying yes just might be the stupid choice that ends with him raping you?

TV Anchor Anne Pressley's Alleged Killer Pleaded Not Guilty - ABC News

Curtis Lavelle Vance is accused of beating Pressly, 26, a rising star on the local morning news scene, into a coma and raping her in her apartment in October 2008 after a break-in. The face so many in her hometown had come to know was crushed beyond recognition. Five days after the attack, Pressly's brain stem ruptured and she died.

(page 2)
Police told ABC News that while Vance denies the murder, he did admit to being at Pressley's house.

"We believe he probably saw her in the neighborhood, probably getting gas, maybe doing something else and then followed her and attacked her," said Hastings. "He denied being involved in it in any way. But his DNA told us otherwise."

How 'stupid' of this woman to go out in public where she could be seen, and then go to sleep in her own house!

No, my first thoughts would be: did I lock the doors and windows? Is my alarm system activated? Is my self-defense firearm loaded and handy? Did the automatic motion sensor floodlights I set up outside my home come on when the intruder approached? Is my dog barking? Should I get up and check on that noise? Those would be my first thoughts.

No, my first thought would be is this guy planning on robbing or killing me? Or maybe it would be, why am I walking alone in this garage? Why didn't I park closer to the entrance? Or I might be thinking - will I need to pull my concealed carry firearm and shoot this guy?

Situational awareness is key to avoid being a victim as is planning and preparation to avoid risky situations. Even females can do it...

While some may want to think this is a rare occurrence, the reality is much more sinister...
Over two thirds of all rapes occur in someone's home. 31% occur in the perpetrators' homes, 27% in the victims' homes and 10% in homes shared by the victim and perpetrator. 7% occur at parties, 7% in vehicles, 4% outdoors and 2% in bars.[9]
Additionally, only about a quarter of all rapes are perpetrated by a stranger.
26% - Current or Former Intimate Partner
07% - Another Relative
38% - Friend or Acquaintance
26% - Stranger.
Rape - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

So the reality is that for women to not get raped, they shouldn't stay in their own homes. They shouldn't date. They shouldn't even know other people.
Evidently hanging out in a bar with strangers has the lowest statistics...

Good. Now keep those doors and windows locked, keep that firearm loaded and handy, keep those alarms activated, every moment of every day and night. Make sure that the dog is trained not to bark at any sound whatsoever. Make sure that those locks are good quality items. Keep those protective thoughts uppermost in your mind 24/7, and make sure that you treat every single male you know, from your friends husbands, to your next door neighbor, to your mail carrier, and every single male you don't know, as a potential rapist!

You can't afford motion sensors? Too bad. You didn't take proper precautions.

Can't afford the care of a dog? See above.

Can't afford the training? See above.

Can't afford those quality locks? See above.

Can't find a parking space closer to the building? Too bad.

Your car broke down and you have to take the bus? Your fault.

Can't afford a gun, or the professional training to use it, and the ammo to practice enough that it feels natural in your hand? Oh well.

Can't get a concealed carry permit? Too bad.

That 'situational awareness' has brought you to the point of paranoia that you blow away the paper boy? Too bad. I'm sure that your neighbors who have been exposed to your acting as if you live in a war zone, and treating every male alive as a possible rapist, will be more than happy to tell the police "We've all agreed for years that she's so paranoid about 'rapists' it was just a matter of time.".

You see DamnitBoy: What you call 'situational awareness', we call 'existing'.

Oh, one final warning. Never live in an apartment building where the kitchens and bathroom of one unit back up to the same in another unit.

I'll let you figure out why.

You're right, it's much better to walk through life like a deaf, blind, moron, incapable of making rational choices...

Here's reality sweetcheeks; bad people do bad things and smart people make an effort to avoid those folks.

I think this is a subject/problem a lot of men are simply incapable of computing.

To put it simply, women don't get raped ONLY when they took a stupid chance.

Even women in Arab countries who aren't allowed to show an inch of skin or leave their homes without a man with them, get raped.

Here's reality for you darlin': when your neighbor from down the street, whom you've know for years, knocks on your door in the middle of a sunny afternoon with a measuring cup in his hand, odds are the average woman is going to act "like a deaf, blind, moron, incapable of making rational choices" and open the door to see what he wants to borrow.
