![]() I have an unpopular take on the Bullying Phenomenon.
That is, we get things like suicide when we teach kids that the proper response to bullying is not to punch them in the face, and that if the bully's nose doesn't bleed, it wasn't done hard enough. Add to that crap like "conflict resolution" training which stresses that right and wrong are found on both sides, and you have a nearly perfect plan to make the bullied child feel that they have gotten what they deserve. Of course more of them are committing suicide, not because they are bullied, but because the message responsibly adults give them is that the bully, while perhaps a bit excessive in action, was correct in their justification for tormenting the victim.

![]() Through all of grade school I was teh smallest kid in class and I went through way more than my fair share of bullying. It was only when I figured out that I was able to kick some ass that it stopped. When the bullies found out that pushing me into a mud puddle meant that they were going to be curled up on the ground after I kneed when in balls, they stopped pushing me into mud puddles. A couple of them even ended up as friends. We need to stop telling kids to not be bullies and start teaching them that bullies need to have their asses kicked.

![]() I taught my kids, and now I'm teaching my grandchildren, how to to hit hard and painfully, any bully who is a physical threat. I also taught them to ignore any babblings coming out of the bully's mouths. I also informed the schools they attend that it will be done my way, and the administrators may do whatever trips their trigger, or figuratively speaking, dig in their butts for politically correct answers to this bullying, "no right no wrong" crap.

![]() I spent a great deal of my school years being picked on, or what they now call 'bullying'. Skinny, with the 'mom haircut', glasses, nerdy older brother, late developing, just about anything that could make you a target.
I learned to fight back, verbally and physically if necessary. I actually got into it with boys in my younger years, before I had honed my verbal skills. Can't say I always won, but I made my point and there was rarely a need for a second round. Seems like everybody wears their emotions on their skin nowadays, and have no method of dealing with opposition. Runs hand in hand with the PC stuff, as far as I'm concerned. I'm sorry this happen to this young lady. I'm sorry that no one apparently did anything about it, and I'm sorry she didn't know how to defend herself against it.

![]() Yeah, me too.
![]() It's also sad (and revealing), to hear those who think the answer to it is just more physical violence. ![]() The real answer is vigilance by adults and swift punishment of the bullies. . |

To be a physical aggressor is not the answer. As a defense, it is quite often the only means that is effective.
