What is dangerous is when we don't eat foods in their natural forms and we lose tolerance that we would have otherwise had.
It doesn't make everyone sick. It just carries the potential. And if milk wasn't making people sick in it's natural form, there would have been no need to start pasteurizing it in the first place.

Yeah, Cali is one of the 10 states where it's legal.

The lawsuit is not about selling raw milk at a roadside stand, but shipping it across state lines.

Quote:
"It is the FDA's position that raw milk should never be consumed," said Tamara N. Ward, spokeswoman for the FDA, whose investigators have been looking into Rainbow Acres for months, and who finally last week filed a 10-page complaint in federal court in Pennsylvania seeking an order to stop the farm from shipping across state lines any more raw milk or dairy products made from it.

Sweetie- living makes everyone sick. This is the risk we take when we are born. How about the government giving everyone their own freaking sterile bubble to live in. That oughtta fix it.

Maybe...just maybe...people who get sick from drinking milk...I dunno, shouldn't drink milk?

The prevalence of sheer fear and cowardice among the general public these days is mind-boggling.

Nothing wrong with raw milk, like lizzie I drank it for years when I would live on my uncles farm in the summer. For god sake mothers milk is raw milk maybe we should force mothers to put filters on their taps........

Sanitation is the reason pasteurizing was "necessary" in the first place. The cows were contaminated, their milk was contaminated. When they feed on their own feces, or the waste from other animals, or the waste from --oh, I dunno -- whiskey distillation, it kind of contaminates the milk.

If a cow is left to graze in open, green, clean pastures the risk is minimal. So minimal, in fact, that barely 60 people a year get "sick" from it. And, if you checked those 60 people's milk you might find that they didn't keep it cold enough, or kept it too long, or the farm they got it from wasn't so sanitary after all.

Compare those 60 people (who may or may not have taken care of their milk properly) with the 10s of thousands that die from alcohol each year and then tell me again about how how dangerous raw milk is.

Isn't it amazing that humans had the ability to survive before governments stepped in to protect us? I dare say we were a much tougher breed of humans in days gone by.

I think I have a new bumper sticker slogan idea to sell:

"Fight terrorism, not terra-ism"
