Don't blame the bank for asking if you are up to paying your bills and getting your house in order. Jesus people we were warned this would happen. Gietner was trying to make it clear and all the right did was attack Gietner. Then they go "What?"
Partisans like you.
You show it in almost every post you make with your constant accusations of "the right".
This is serious business, Mikeyy, and you know it. Pointing fingers isn't going to solve it and you know that also, yet that is all you do. You should run for office because you act exactly like a partisan politician.

The thing is this is the first time both sides agreed our debt was too high, That we needed to tackle entitlements, That we needed some serious reform. We have a POTUS who was willing to sit down and make a long term agreement. But it wasn't good enough. Look at the pronouncments from these guys during the debt ceiling debate. The left was there to work with and the tea party folks say we were sent here to do what we want to. Not to work with anyone. Then look what we ended up with. They don't want Obama to succeed at anything and that plays into it also. I am left center. You seem to be right center. That is fine and I am sure you and I could sit and sort out a long term plan. Why they hell can't they?

Sing along with Mikeyy!...

This is sung to any song you feel like...

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....

Nothing is Obama's fault; Messiah does no wrong
Everyone else is to blame; It's always the same old song
Barry, he is pure of soul; the rest are full of hate
Never mind the logic; facts will surely have to wait

Barry's bum,it smells so good; I can't take my nose away
It passes gas and sounds just like "The right's fault!" every day
I must reiterate the line; Obama's ass has spoken
Doesn't matter that his policies have all been broken

I don't always agree with Obama and I say so all the time. When it isn't his fault it just isn't. He said over and over again he was there to negotiate with. If some could get over the fact that he is the POTUS and live with that they might be able to work.
Seriously, I am mad at the tea party members of congress. Aren't you? Or let me ask it this way. Don't you think we missed the chance a a real deal?

snips,

China is not bluffing, they are continuing to lay the groundwork to replace the US dollar as a global currency. They want the yuan to be that replacement.
If you think the US has an economic mess right now go back and look what happened to England when the US Dollar replaced the Pound Sterling.
For some this was excepted. Yet for finding it and posting it. Now those two bowls of s*** are spilling over and we the people are in for a wild ride.
And it is mostly all down hill..

We haven't actually "borrowed from the Chinese."

We issue Treasuries to raise money and they, knowing we have the most successful and stable government in the world......buy them for the stability.

If they had the money, it could just as easily be Costa Rica who was the major holder of our debt.

I'm sure China was more than a little concerned about the recent debt ceiling fiasco and the potential of defaulting on those Treasuries though.

To your point, it is definitely time to slow down on issuing more debt (to anyone).

When a regime will run over its own citizens with tanks, imagine what they will do to a deadbeat creditor.

Yes, similar to Kent State (I assume you mean Kent State), only worse.

I'm for eliminating all government borrowing altogether. Let the current taxpayers pay for the services they want and not enslave future generations. If we don't want to pay the taxes, then we shouldn't get the free stuff.
