Class Action Lawsuit Targets McDonald's Use of Toys to Market to Children

Notice it?...

Spoiler

You know what? Some of us predicted crap like this would happen when nobody stood up while smokers were taxed to death and relegated to bars and street corners like junkies, so I really don't give a darn what happens to Mickey Dees. Besides that they were one of the first chains to ban smoking.

I understand taking the kids to Mickey Dees once a week if they were good and did their chores but not every day. Even three times a week I think is too often. Personally when I was a kid in the 70's and 80's going to fast food place like Mickey Dees or Berger King was a rare event.

I don't personally care what happens to Mickey D's, but I do hope that an idiot who can't figure out how to manage a 6 yr-old doesn't get rewarded for her stupidity and lack of a spine.

If it was taking place in Oregon I'd say she would win hands down. Idaho would tell her to go fly a burger bun.

Agreed. But sadly odds are good she's going home with a boat load of cash.

All that woman has to do is buy a toy for $1.79 ea. Mc D's has side salads, fruity parfaits w/blueberries, strawberries, yogert and granola. They also have sliced apples, and a fruit salad w/apples, grapes, walnuts and vanilla yogert. And then there's oatmeal w/wo brown sugar, diced apples and raisins. Soooooo...........that woman has no excuse. She could get any of those foods and make that child sit and eat and then give her the toy.

Or................she could go purchase the toy, and feed her kid something healthy at home. Trouble is, she's a mom that coddles her kid and lets her act the way she wants until she gets what she wants. She's a lazy parent and doesn't want to do the job that parenting a child entails. And she's looking for a free ride to riches to top it off.

I think people have taken it to the extreme nowdays because many don't know how to cook or hate to cook. And there are many that eat at a fast food restaurant every day.

UPDATE!...

The whole thing's a charade...

Quote:
Much of the interviewing press was happy to treat Monet Parham as a random (if oddly well-informed) California mom, but it didn’t take the blogosphere long to discover that she is apparently anything but random. Ira Stoll, who blogs at Future of Capitalism and used to put out the New York Times-tweaking smartertimes.com, soon discovered (via a commenter) that she is in fact the same person as Monet Parham-Lee, who is a “regional program manager” on the state of California payroll for child nutrition matters.

Specifically, she works on a federally funded program that campaigns to exhort people to eat their vegetables and that sort of thing. The comment:

Interestingly, her name has been scrubbed from the website of Champions for Change, the Network for a Healthy California. She has given numerous presentations and attended conferences on the importance of eating vegetables and whatnot.

She presents herself as an ordinary mother. She is not. She is an advocate, and an employee of a California agency tasked with advocating the eating of vegetables. To the extent that Monet Parham-Lee has EVER taken her daughter to a McDonald's, she should have known better.”
So it's actually worse than her being an idiot mother...She's an activist pretending to be an idiot mother to advance an agenda...

She could have been a student at East Anglia. Better yet a climate researcher.
