Assuming that the above is all true, can anyone tell me when the government was ever able to get a handle on the waste, fraud, and abuse of any thing they ever did?

Introducing more than 40 million new people into the healthcare system and providing care for the entire nation and not one lefty can see this is undoable without rationing and huge tax increases.....GIVE ME FRIGGIN BREAK!
40% of current health care costs go to administrative services. The government doesn't need all those middle men to administer the system. So right off the top, that is a 40% reduction in cost.

And even if 40 million people signed up for coverage, you really think they're going to go to their respective doctors at the same time in one big block?

Of coarse it's doable! We can take $500 billion out of the defense budget to fund the damn thing. If you're so concerned about cost, why aren't you bitchin' about the $12 billion a month we are spending on someone else's country. The way I see it, if you care about this country, you buy American.

These objections are just guesses of what might happen. The government has done okay with Medicare all these years considering, and this bill is not much different than that. And that's not a guess.

But thanks for the link and posting this, Billo.

Boy oh boy oh, do I have some
ammo for the coffee shop discussions now!
The dems are just as bad. That's why I seek alternative media outlets talking about the same story. The news is a lot different in other country's regarding the same issues. When the Downing Street Minutes came out, it was the biggest story around the world for weeks, yet it was barely mentioned here. And when it was, mainstream pundits were dismissing it as information that didn't add anything to the discussion. I know why the US media played it down, because it is the "smoking gun" on Bush war crimes. He told the British he was going to attack Iraq and he was going to "fix the intel around the policy". That's a confession! It is also proof of a pre-meditated crime.

What I find funny is the pro-war crowd tries to say DSM was a forgery. Which is quite a stretch when you factor in that the minutes came from a source that was for war and for Bush. It is even more of a stretch when no one from either government that was directly involved in these meetings has denounced them as forgeries. The forgery rap doesn't hold water if you can't get someone who was there to back you up.
