Default Murdoch's Wall Street Journal Fires Another Shot at 'Loser' Trump

"Hopefully today will turn out to be one of the most important days in the history of our country," former President Donald Trump posted on his Truth Social platform early Tuesday, teasing what is widely expected to be his formal entry into the 2024 presidential race.

Trump appears set to launch his campaign despite pleas from across his party asking him to hold off until after the Dec. 6 runoff for the Georgia Senate seat. The race will not decide which party holds the Senate, which was retained by the Democrats when the Nevada vote was called for incumbent Catherine Cortez Masto Saturday night. The call came during Tiffany Trump's wedding at her father's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

The Wall Street Journal returned to its theme from last week that Trump's prospects are exhausted, the latest effort from the Rupert Murdoch-owned paper to dampen support for the 45th president's leadership in the Republican Party.

Stating that Trump is "barreling ahead" with his announcement, the Journal wrote, "The irony is that more Democrats than Republicans will be elated because they see him as the easiest candidate to beat one more time," the Journal wrote in an editorial.

The opinion piece laid out two reasons Trump is announcing so early.

"The first is to try to clear the Republican field of potential competitors, especially Govs. Ron DeSantis and Glenn Youngkin, who have shown they can win in competitive states," the opinion piece stated.

Looks like the Murdoch's have been waiting to get out of the Trump promotion business and now they see their chance.

Why do you believe this was Murdoch's call simply because he's the owner of the paper?...Is there a public statement or memo directly to their editorial board?...

I keep seeing comments from sources saying Murdoch is not interested in supporting Trump. But you are right that I don't have a public statement.

I don't see the Murdoch's correcting the record.

Maybe it's true...I don't know...

But to have an article based on unnamed sources saying what they heard doesn't put a lot of credibility behind it...

'We Cannot Back Another Run': Media Mogul Rupert Murdoch Tells Donald Trump He 'Cannot Back' Ex-Prez's Fresh Bid For White House

Rupert Murdoch has reportedly informed Donald Trump both he and his conservative media empire “cannot back” the ex-president’s fresh bid for the White House in 2024, RadarOnline.com has learned.

In a surprising development to come just hours after former President Trump officially announced his candidacy for the presidency in two years’ time, Murdoch reportedly cited the poor performance of Trump-endorsed candidates in the midterm elections as a main reason the media mogul cannot back the businessman-turned-politician’s third bid for the presidency.

Even more surprising are reports Murdoch has instead decided to back Florida Governor Ron DeSantis should DeSantis throw his hat into the 2024 campaign ring, according to the Guardian.

“We have been clear with Donald. There have been conversations between them during which Rupert made it clear to Donald that we cannot back another run for the White House,” one senior source at News Corp, Murdoch’s media company, said.

“Lachlan has been keen on Ron for some time,” the source added, referring to Rupert’s 51-year-old son and the heir to the Murdoch empire. “He’s viewed within the organization as a sanitized version of Donald.”

I guess this makes it clear that the Murdoch's have moved on. Wonder how this will fall at FOX Trump network
