True that. The so-called vaccine targets a single spike protein in the virus so it's not a big mutation to skirt the protection. The chief benefit seems to be a reduction in the severity of illness when the vaccinated get infected. There is no compelling social interest to compelling or coercing everybody to get vaccinated.
It's important to keep in mind that your individual risk of death from Covid may vary from the overall population. If you are over 65 or have other health conditions your risk may be greater. Elementary school aged children have less risk of contracting Covid. Educate yourself on your risk profile so you can make an informed decision.
