Default MSNBC star Rachel Maddow accused of deceiving viewers by glossing over Trump Jr. bloc

I know Rachel Maddow and MSNBC lying and deceiving isn't shocking but here ya go.

Maddow could possibly be the biggest liar in the media. If not on top of the list she's pretty fuqing close.

MSNBC star Rachel Maddow accused of deceiving viewers by glossing over Trump Jr. blocked call reports

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow was called out by a media watchdog group for deceiving viewers when she failed to mention details of reports seemingly clearing Donald Trump Jr. of suspicions that he made phone calls to President Trump around the time of the Trump Tower meeting with Russians in June 2016.

Mediaite’s Caleb Howe penned an opinion piece on Monday headlined, “Rachel Maddow’s narrative on Don Jr.’s ‘blocked calls’ disappeared. She forgot to tell her audience.”

Howe explained that Maddow and “many of her guests” were wildly suspicious about whether or not the president’s oldest son spoke to his father after the Trump Tower meeting.

“She wondered hard, breathlessly. Rife with implication did she wonder, and heavily hanging the implied conclusion of collusion upon it,” Howe wrote. “But the assumption turned out not to be the case.”

Last week reports appeared to vindicate Trump Jr. when Senate investigators obtained phone records which appeared to show that he had actually spoken to two longtime family friends, The New York Times reported. Democrats and Trump’s critics had long suspected the calls were between Trump Jr. and his then-candidate father regarding the meeting with Russians offering dirt on Hillary Clinton during the 2016 campaign.

Once it was reported that Trump Jr. was not on the phone with his father, it was major news across much of the media landscape.

“But not hot enough for details on Rachel Maddow’s show,” Howe wrote before pointing out that Adam Schiff, D-Calif.,was actually a guest on her show last Thursday after the news broke.

“This is not MSNBC reporting and MSNBC hasn’t confirmed this, but they’re saying Senate investigators have obtained information about something that you have asked about in the past concerning Donald Trump Jr.,” Maddow told Schiff without informing her viewers that reports essentially squashed her theory.

“In his rambling response, Schiff not only didn’t indicate the reporting that it was not a father-son phone call, he implied that the open question remains to be investigated,” Howe wrote. “At no point does Maddow tell viewers what the ‘new reporting’ actually was. Maddow says ‘this is not MSNBC’s reporting,’ but she doesn’t [say] whose reporting it is. For the record, it was CNN. And ABC News. And the New York Times.”

MSNBC did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Howe noted that speculation is common on cable news programs but “speculation doesn’t always pan out” and after Maddow hyperventilated about the then-suspicious calls “it would seem a correction or even an update would be a demand of journalism.”

The Mediaite editor concluded: “Yet, given the chance to tell her viewers not only that Senate investigators have evidence it was not a call to his father, that major media were reporting this that very day, or even the names of the people who were actually called (itself an interesting Russian lead), Maddow instead chose to gloss over it and let Schiff continue to beat his well-worn drum. Even for an opinion show, that goes past shoddy and approaches deceptive.”

Trump Jr. has maintained that Natalia Veselnitskaya, the Russian lawyer he met with at Trump Tower, did not have any information to share and instead wanted to discuss the Magnitsky Act and other sanctions.

The Trump Tower meeting has been under intense scrutiny from investigators seeking whether Trump colluded with Russia in the 2016 presidential election. Investigators are also looking at the financial ties between Trump associates and the Kremlin.

Fox News’ Stephen Sorace contributed to this report.

I'm sorry, but anyone that confuses Rachel Maddow with Journalism, is severely misinformed or flat out stupid.

This is utter and complete BS.

I record two different shows on MSNBC. One is Deadline White House with conservative host Nicole Wallace and the other is the Rachael Maddow for her more left leaning perspective. I've seen virtually every show of Rachel Maddow over the last six months and she's never implied that the blocked calls were with President Trump. She's even pointed out that if the calls were to his father it didn't indicate that they were discussing the meeting at Trump Tower. That's never been a focus on any of her shows and she's barely mentioned the blocked calls at all except to say that the Mueller investigation is presumably looking into them.

That we now have information on who the calls were to has no importance on whether President Trump was informed about the meeting in advance and all indications are that he was. There may not be conclusive proof of that but it's so unlikely that Trump Jr didn't discuss something this huge with his father are implausible.

The Trump campaign was well aware of the fact that Russian intelligence had stolen emails related to Hillary Clinton. That was why Trump Jr had stated, "If it's what I think it is, I love it" when the meeting was proposed.

President Trump even claimed he was going to provide information that was eventually revealed by those emails the day before the meeting at Trump Tower. When the Russians didn't hand over the emails directly to the campaign Trump managed to "forget" about the disclosures he promised to make to the American people.

The phone calls had virtually nothing to do with whether President Trump knew about the meeting.

What does matter is the fact that the meeting was about then candidate Trump lifting economic sanctions if elected in return for Russia's assistance in getting elected. Trump has been committed to lifting sanctions against Russia since being elected. We know that as a fact because of the Flynn calls to the Russian ambassador in late December 2016 before Trump even took office. We know that one of Trump's first initiatives was to have the State Department look into coming up with reasons to lift economic sanctions on Russia. We know Trump was outraged when Congress forced him to impose more sanctions and that he pushed the limits on not following the Congressional mandate to impose more sanctions. Trump has been successful in lifting sanctions against Oleg Daripaska. We know that Daripaska was involved in the Russian meddling in the 2016 election and that Daripaska was given privileged campaign information by Trump's campaign director, Paul Manafort.

The fact that Rachael Maddow never placed any real importance on the blocked phone calls to begin with also addresses why there was no need for her to address the fact that the Senate had learned who they were to. It was "big news" for Trump supporters but it was no news to those actually addressing evidence in the Russian investigation. The blocked phone calls didn't have any significance to begin with.

Based upon the corruption, brutality, inhumanity, immorality, dishonesty, and incompetence of the Trump administration the White House is the dirtiest house in America and there's no known cleanser that with remove the stains of the Trump Administration.

If having experts provide opinions as factual information becomes public without extrapolating what's known into something that's not known (i.e. no conspiracy theories) then she's an example of an excellent host of a news show.

Her approach is to address facts to experts in the following manner:

Maddow: "We learned this fact today so what does it mean?"
Expert: "It could mean A, B, or C but there's no why of knowing which until more details become available."
Maddow: "So there's no way of knowing what these facts actually mean until we have more information. Thank you very much."

She never projects an opinion on inconclusive facts like those at Fox News might engage in.

This goes a long ways towards explaining why so many of your posts are filled with grievous errors.
