I'm not completely sure but I think I heard she stayed at home through as much college as possible then immediately after graduation (when her dad passed) had to help her mom right away because the deceased's estate was tied up through red tape (NY

)for so long.
Also moving is a big deal nowadays.
It would be for me even 300 miles away nearer the coast where we were thinking about a while back. (There's a VA Med Center and spouse was having so many treatments & procedures over there that Boise couldn't handle.)
I get your point but last I was in Virginia for a lengthy stay was in the 80s and our rent was over $1200.00 per month back then for a modest townhouse in a -looked like apartments to me-grove of townhouses. That was Manassas where a lot of govt employees did live including Dan Quale. Though of course, he was in better digs his wife bringing in the bigger pocketbook.
And I don't put anyone down for inheriting or earning money, it just shows these people who run our country -ALL of them -are very wealthy with a few exceptions.
You have to ask yourself why would they give up lucrative law and medical practices etc to take the comparatively meager salary of a congressman?

And how do we change the system so that more folks who look more like you and me-again from both sides of the aisle-can serve our country?
