Default Internet purging/cencoring certain voices

Mike Adams 'the Health Ranger" YouTube Channel was COMPLETELY removed by YouTube.
naturalnews.com

memory holed

Quote:
Reality Check with Ben Swann: Is there an internet purge of conservative voices or voices of dissension online? Some say yes, and that the purge is being pushed by several social media companies. We’ve heard about censorship before… but is what is happening now an all-out purge? This is a Reality Check you won't get anywhere else. .
Youtube, Twitter and Facebook admit they are censoring mostly conservative , libertarian and alternative information.

MediaMatters, the Southern Poverty Law Center and other "watch dogs" are advocating censorship. And are promoting the the political, biz and science status-quo Plus the crazy sjw wing of the left.

Twitter Admits It Buried "Podesta Email", DNC Tweets Ahead Of The Presidential Election

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-...onths-campaign

in testimony before congress

....Before the election, we also detected and took action on activity relating to hashtags that have since been reported as manifestations of efforts to interfere with the 2016 election. For example, our automated spam detection systems helped mitigate the impact of automated Tweets promoting the #PodestaEmails hashtag, which originated with Wikileaks’ publication of thousands of emails from the Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta’s Gmail account.

The core of the hashtag was propagated by Wikileaks, whose account sent out a series of 118 original Tweets containing variants on the hashtag #PodestaEmails referencing the daily installments of the emails released on the Wikileaks website. In the two months preceding the election, around 57,000 users posted approximately 426,000 unique Tweets containing variations of the #PodestaEmails hashtag.

Approximately one quarter (25%) of those Tweets received internal tags from our automation detection systems that hid them from searches.

As described in greater detail below, our systems detected and hid just under half (48%) of the Tweets relating to variants of another notable hashtag, #DNCLeak, which concerned the disclosure of leaked emails from the Democratic National Committee....

Facing the claim it is violating the First Amendment, the tech giant says allowing users an option to filter doesn't amount to censorship.

This week, Google was hit with a lawsuit from Prager University, run by radio talk show host Dennis Prager, claiming the tech giant is violating the First Amendment. The complaint filed in California alleges that YouTube is hardly neutral in its treatment of videos espousing liberal and conservative points of view. Prager U. alleges its videos are put into restricted mode, while other videos on similar topics — but from a liberal perspective — are not.

In a post on Friday, we discussed how this lawsuit is challenged, both from First Amendment jurisprudence as well as statutory blocks like Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.
...The lawsuit comes from Prager University, run by radio-talk-show host Dennis Prager. According to the plaintiff, many of its "educational" videos have been put into "restricted mode." Prager suspects there is no reasonable basis for this, other than viewpoint bias. The complaint filed in California federal court includes charts of restricted videos compared to unrestricted videos on "similar topics." For example, Prager's video titled "Are 1 in 5 women in college raped?" is on lockdown, while a Real Time With Bill Maher video about The Hunting Ground; an interview with former Vice President Joe Biden on how to end the campus rape crisis; and Lady Gaga singing about rape all can be seen by YouTube users....
But we also spent considerable attention to Google's initial decision to decline comment on the lawsuit or to explain how its system works.

On Saturday, Google did come with some comment. Here's the statement in full:
"YouTube is an open platform and, to make it a great place for users, creators and advertisers, we provide different choices and settings. Restricted Mode is an optional feature used by a small subset of users to filter out videos that may include sensitive or mature content. Giving viewers the choice to opt in to a more restricted experience is not censorship. In fact, this is exactly the type of tool that Congress has encouraged online services to provide for parents and others interested in a more family-friendly experience online."

seriously.

Facebook Apologizes For Threatening To Censor Christian Satire Site Flagged As Fake News
Facebook is now saying its decision to go after the Christian satire site, The Babylon Bee because Snopes told them to was a mistake. Their apology doesn't change the social network's creepy comfortability with censorship.

Facebook is now saying its decision to threaten to censor a Christian satire site because it was flagged by Snopes for reporting fake news was a mistake. The social media giant apologized, but that doesn’t make the censorship any less disconcerting.

The Babylon Bee set off Facebook’s alarm bells by publishing a satirical piece stating that CNN had purchased an “industrial-size washing machine to spin news before publication.” This is obviously a joke and is clearly marked satire and is published on a site entirely devoted to satire. But the uptight jerks over at Snopes decided to fact check the Bee’s claim, to ensure that no one actually thought that CNN “made a significant investment in heavy machinery.” Uh, okay. Thanks, Snopes! Would’ve totally fallen for that one! Hours later, Adam Ford, who runs The Babylon Bee, got a notification warning him that the post had been flagged as so-called “fake news” by Snopes, and that if it happened again, the Bee’s Facebook page could face de-monetization and its posts would suffer a reduced reach. Not only did Facebook threaten to punish the Bee, the social network has also been warning its users who click on the obviously satirical post that it is, in fact, satire. “Before you share this content, you might want to know that there is additional reporting on this from Snopes.com,” Facebook suggested in a little pop up window....

Twitter Keeps Censoring Pro-Lifers

Conservative writer Devin Sena tweeted a picture Saturday of a healthy unborn baby with the caption: “This is a human.” He added the hashtag “TriggerALiberalIn4Words.”

Twitter chose to suppress the factually accurate tweet as “sensitive material” and warned certain users before they saw it.

After censorship (Screenshot/Twitter)

“Upon review, we have determined that the media is potentially sensitive and have labeled it accordingly. There will now be a click-through warning message over the media for users whose accounts are set so they are informed before viewing media that may be sensitive,” Twitter said in an email to Sena that was reviewed by The Daily Caller News Foundation.

The email warned that all of Sena’s future tweets could be permanently suppressed in a similar manner if he didn’t self-censor in the future.
Twitter has consistently censored pro-lifers who use the platform to raise awareness on behalf of unborn babies. The tech giant in February barred pro-life group Human Coalition from advertising three pro-life tweets:

Twitter removed the three Human Coalition ads just three hours after they went up, the group said.

Christian Film Censored
Katherine Weber for the Christian Post recently reported that Christian filmmakers are questioning why a newly-released short film on persecution in the Middle East was banned from YouTube.
The creators behind "Chased" have spoken out against the video sharing platform's decision to remove its 33-minute movie, which claimed it violated "Community Guidelines" for having "inappropriate" content.

The film follows the fictional story of Anneliese, a young Christian girl living in the U.S. whose family is subjected to persecution for their Christian faith. As the film's website states, the movie seeks to shed light on what life would be like for Christians in the U.S. if they were forced to endure the same persecution experienced currently by Christians in the Middle East.

"For many, the reality of persecution is an abstract concept. While it may be uncomfortable to imagine a society without religious freedom, it is an all too personal truth for the 100 million Christians who struggle to express their faith in religiously repressed areas," the website states.

Emily Weaver, the writer behind the film, told The Blaze in an earlier interview this week that she and the film's other creators are trying to get answers as to why their movie was removed. Yet as Sharona Schwartz reported for theblaze.com, the movie included no nudity, profanity or explicit onscreen violence.

The Chased movie crew and several other Christian filmmakers have agreed that YouTube takes part in shadowbanning, or a method of banning spammers or content they deem unsuitable for the site.

Josh Troester, the Springfield, Missouri-based director and producer of "Chased," told The Blaze that he read the video-sharing site's Community Guidelines and "determined that there must have been a mistake, as our movie did not violate any of their Community Guidelines".

"The process allows for one appeal if you believe there has been a mistake. I appealed through their process stating that the movie was written to paint a picture of what persecution would look like in our own backyard, Troester said.

After a few hours, he got this email from YouTube: "After further review of the content, we've determined that your video does violate our Community Guidelines and have upheld our original decision."

"YouTube's decision to censor this movie from its public site is confusing, disheartening, and in our opinion, inconsistent considering there are clearly multiple (potentially thousands of) pieces of content on their site that could easily be considered in violation of their Community Guidelines," Troester said.

Other Christian movies have over the past years found themselves on the receiving end of such strange and ambiguous vetting processes.

In a 2013 incident, YouTube and Facebook temporarily banned Christian actor Kirk Cameron's movie "Unstoppable" due to the websites' "policy against spam, scams and commercially deceptive content."

The movie, starring Cameron and created in conjunction with Liberty University, follows the main character as he seeks to answer the question, "Why does God let bad things happen to good people?"

The bans on Facebook and YouTube were eventually lifted after Cameron started an online protest campaign for full reinstatement. Michael Kirkland, communications manager for Facebook, explained to The Christian Post at the time that Cameron's movie had been blocked due to a mistake with the company's spam software program.

Equally disturbing is that double standards seem to be applied, punishing the expression of innocuous and informative views based on the Christian faith while allowing much more violent, immoral and extremist videos from non-Christian persuasions. These are usually reflected through entertainment industry giants such as Hollywood, or through belligerent jihadist videos that seem to enjoy a lot more 'Community Guideline' leniency despite being rife with incitement to violence and murder.

Washington Post Disgracefully Promotes a McCarthyite Blacklist From a New, Hidden, and Very Shady Group
November 26 2016, 1:17 p.m.

The Washington Post on Thursday night promoted the claims of a new, shadowy organization that smears dozens of U.S. news sites that are critical of U.S. foreign policy as being “routine peddlers of Russian propaganda.” The article by reporter Craig Timberg — headlined “Russian propaganda effort helped spread ‘fake news’ during election, experts say” — cites a report by an anonymous website calling itself PropOrNot, which claims that millions of Americans have been deceived this year in a massive Russian “misinformation campaign.”

The group’s list of Russian disinformation outlets includes WikiLeaks and the Drudge Report, as well as Clinton-critical left-wing websites such as Truthout, Black Agenda Report, Truthdig, and Naked Capitalism, as well as libertarian venues such as Antiwar.com and the Ron Paul Institute.

This Post report was one of the most widely circulated political news articles on social media over the last 48 hours, with dozens, perhaps hundreds, of U.S. journalists and pundits with large platforms hailing it as an earth-shattering exposé. It was the most-read piece on the entire Post website on Friday after it was published.

Yet the article is rife with obviously reckless and unproven allegations, and fundamentally shaped by shoddy, slothful journalistic tactics. It was not surprising to learn that, as BuzzFeed’s Sheera Frenkel noted, “a lot of reporters passed on this story.” Its huge flaws are self-evident. But the Post gleefully ran with it and then promoted it aggressively, led by its Executive Editor Marty Baron:

In casting the group behind this website as “experts,” the Post described PropOrNot simply as “a nonpartisan collection of researchers with foreign policy, military and technology backgrounds.” Not one individual at the organization is named. The executive director is quoted, but only on the condition of anonymity, which the Post said it was providing the group “to avoid being targeted by Russia’s legions of skilled hackers.”

In other words, the individuals behind this newly created group are publicly branding journalists and news outlets as tools of Russian propaganda — even calling on the FBI to investigate them for espionage — while cowardly hiding their own identities. The group promoted by the Post thus embodies the toxic essence of Joseph McCarthy, but without the courage to attach individual names to the blacklist. Echoing the Wisconsin senator, the group refers to its lengthy collection of sites spouting Russian propaganda as “The List.”...

The credentials of this supposed group of experts are impossible to verify, as none is provided either by the Post or by the group itself. The Intercept contacted PropOrNot and asked numerous questions about its team, but received only this reply: “We’re getting a lot of requests for comment and can get back to you today =) [smiley face emoticon].” The group added: “We’re over 30 people, organized into teams, and we cannot confirm or deny anyone’s involvement.”...

https://theintercept.com/2016/11/26/...y-shady-group/

....One of the core functions of PropOrNot appears to be its compilation of a lengthy blacklist of news and political websites that it smears as peddlers of “Russian propaganda.” Included on this blacklist of supposed propaganda outlets are prominent independent left-wing news sites such as Truthout, Naked Capitalism, Black Agenda Report, Consortium News, and Truthdig.
Also included are popular libertarian hubs such as Zero Hedge, Antiwar.com, and the Ron Paul Institute, along with the hugely influential right-wing website the Drudge Report and the publishing site WikiLeaks. Far-right, virulently anti-Muslim blogs such as Bare Naked Islam are likewise dubbed Kremlin mouthpieces. Basically, everyone who isn’t comfortably within the centrist Hillary Clinton/Jeb Bush spectrum is guilty. On its Twitter account, the group announced a new “plugin” that automatically alerts the user that a visited website has been designated by the group to be a Russian propaganda outlet....

and also
DTUBE

What is DTube ?
D.Tube is the first crypto-decentralized video platform, built on top of the STEEM Blockchain and the IPFS peer-to-peer network.

Crypto incentive
D.Tube aims to become an alternative to YouTube that allows you to watch or upload videos on IPFS and share or comment about it on the immutable STEEM Blockchain, while earning cryptocurrency doing it.

Resistant to censorship
Because of the decentralized nature of IPFS and the STEEM blockchain, D.Tube is not able to censor videos, nor enforce guidelines. Only the users can censor it, through the power of their upvotes and downvotes.

A fair platform
On DTube, there are no hidden algorithms controlling the visibility or monetization of certain videos over others. All of DTube's data is public, and can be analyzed by anyone with an internet connection.

Ads free
To deliver the best user experience D.Tube runs without advertising. Users remain free to advertise any product or service they would like, directly inside their own videos, at their own risk of losing their subscribers.
