Default CNN crosses a line by using beloved childhood icon to further inflammatory immigratio

Fake news isn't goin' anywhere so CNN is gonna try usin' Elmo to bring it on home.

Anyone else remember when Sesame Street was for educating kids instead of indoctrinating them?

At least CNN isn't focusing on how many scoops of ice cream Trump eats. There's that. Progress!

CNN crosses a line by using beloved childhood icon to further inflammatory immigration agenda – TheBlaze

Despite CNN’s June scandal which saw three journalists “resign” their posts at the network due to posting an “improperly vetted” story, CNN opted to tackle the pro-immigration stance by using “Sesame Street’s” Elmo as a tool to appeal to those against immigration laws.

During a Monday segment, “Elmo” was used a propaganda tool to weigh in on President Donald Trump’s travel ban, which was pushed forward full steam ahead due to the 9-0 vote from the Supreme Court.

In a panel discussion featuring Sesame Workshop’s Sherrie Westin, CNN reporter Clarissa Ward, David Miliband from the International Rescue Committee, and of course, Elmo, the quartet discussed the fate of the children of Syria.

CNN reporter Ward asked Elmo, “Did you find that the Syrian little girls and little boys were a lot like your friends here in America?”

“Yeah, they really were,” Elmo sadly responded. “It was very interesting because they like to play and learn just like Elmo and all of his friends at Sesame Street.”

As part of the propaganda sketch, Elmo visited a refugee camp in Jordan.

“Elmo thinks it’s important to know that everybody is the same deep down and that’s very important,” the long-running “Sesame Street” staple noted.

He added, “It was really sad because Elmo’s new friends told Elmo that they had to leave their homes because it wasn’t safe for them to stay, and that made Elmo really sad and sometimes a bit scared.”

Explaining to the viewers that perhaps the United States should take a “child’s perspective” at looking at immigration and the “staggering number of children who are displaced,” Westin noted that “this was an area where we really had to try and do something to help.”

See the segment in the video below.
