Default CNN Newsroom

I had heard CNN has continued to get worse in it's bias, but I never knew it had gotten so bad.

I'm watching some show with Campbell Brown as the lead anchor. She has a complete panel of commentators that are all pro-Obama.

Some of the topics have been what McCain can do to possibly save his campaign ... the conclusion was that he can't possibly, of course.

Next was how old Democrats in Florida are frustrated because some old Dems in Florida admit that they won't vote for Obama because he's black.

Then a whole bit chastising McCain because he hasn't done enough to make sure everyone understands that Obama isn't a muslim.

Then back to the whole racism thing, and some whiny shit that racism is actually subconcious and people might tell you they're not racist but they really are.

Then BAM, the relevation that maybe only 5% of blacks will vote for McCain.

I'm sorry ... but since when did CNN become full of hour long blocs of nothing but an Obama campaign. Crap ... at least the mainstream media used to try to be fair. Now, they pretend they're not biased while being blatantly biased. It's embarrassing.

I thought CNN and MSNBC were always left leaning as Fox has always been right.
Maybe CNN wasn't quite as blatant as Fox and MSNBC, but now that Obama's ahead, they're jumping on the bandwagon!

My goodness. Where have you been? These are the current topics for a reason. You seem to forget that whe McCain picked Palin all the news was about how McCain may have turned it around. Its always something new. But what has been happening is news. I don't see why your so shocked. McCain is losing. The reasons are becoming clear. They have also had crazies making crazy comments after Palin started the Terrorist stuff about Obama. That is news. And how it effects the election is news. If you don't like the bad press that McCain is getting you should have told him not to get dirty. Sometimes it blows back on you.

Holy crap...

You're so far off in the deep end of the partisan waters that everything I described to you, you simply consider news and not pro-Obama propaganda.

Campbell Brown is nothing more than a left wing Sean Hannity. She now has a track record.

An entire panel of NOTHING but Obama supporters is something you don't even get from MSNBC or in the opposite way from Fox News (though admittedly, they often throw in overmatched panzies from the oppostition). CNN no longer bothers to sit someone down who has an opposing point of view.

AND YOU HAVE THE BALLS TO CALL THAT JUST THE NEWS OF THE DAY????

Old white Democrats pissed off at other old white Democrats in Florida for being racists? You call that new news?

McCain taking a microphone away from a senile old lady and correcting her? The only thing newsworthy about that is the media's disgusting attempt to use that against McCain. This just in, MCCAIN isn't the one who has the problem. Obama's the one with the identity problem...

Dems are going to win the black vote. That's fucking news to you??? Dems always win the black vote. CNN paints it as some McCain failure.

That's the difference between partisan hacks like you, Mike, and people whose perspective I appreciate.

To you, partisan media is just fine. I can sit here and be critical of O'Reilly or whatever shit Fox News has as infotainment programming these days but you consider the shit show I just described as 'just the current news'.

C'mon man. Grow a spine of your own for a change and admit media bias on both sides of the aisle when it's so blatant. Not doing so makes you into more of a joke than a serious voice.

I didn't say that these people are not partisan. But what other news is there. I was a Hillary supporter. You know how pissed I was that the press was in the tank for Obama. I am not arguing in support of talking heads Mike. I am saying that those are legit stories. Maybe your partisanship has blinded you to McCain/Palin's bad campaigning. I think if McCain had stayed out of the gutter. And if he would have picked someone like a Romney we would be seeing McCain in the lead. You can't ignore what McCain has done to himself just because the talking heads are sometimes biased. Hillary lost her edge to Obama by feeling that she was owed. McCain has too.

The issue I usually have is not the bias-ness in what they're reporting (although that's a big part), but the bias-ness in the LACK of reporting...

The most obvious one in the last few years is Iraq...When bombing and blood were an everyday occurance the story was the lead...Now that the country is primarily at peace and the violence is at a minimum, you'll be lucky to see the word on that at the bottom their websites...if at all...

You also see it (the fact that you DON'T see it) in the stories given...

Remember Hillary's fiasco when she embellished her trip to Bosnia?...It was ALL OVER the headlines for days...Pundits and reporters went back to that story every hour on the hour to make sure the public knew...

But did you know the EXACT SAME THING happened with Joe Biden?...

He was going around telling people his chopper was forced down in Afghanistan...But he DOESN'T say what the reason was for the chopper getting "forced down" in the first place, leading people to believe there were dangerous terrorists after him...

It was snowfall...

How many times did you hear about THAT in the media?...Once?...MAYBE twice?...

Reporting a story simply isn't reporting a story...it also includes the DEPTH of the story and the level of attention the story is given...

And as we've seen through both the print and television media, negative stories about Obama are whitewashed, downplayed, and mentioned in passing, while negative stories on McCain are pushed, mentioned every cycle, and discussed through punditry to make the story as negative as possible...

On the war. We go back to the fact that with the press. If it bleeds it leads. But I will point out that the Rev. Wright story has been reported over and over. Just like the Bill Ayers story. Every program all week long has mentioned it. You can't always blame the press because people don't care about a story. Nobody cares about the Keating story either. You saw the clip with McCain and Rick Davis Boarding a yacht in the Mediterranean a few months ago to hang out with a confessed criminal. And what was he doing there. I would like to hear that story asked to McCain. But nobody cares It happens to all of them to some extent.

No...you can...and very easily...

ANCHOR - Today we have, on the panel, Obama's campaign manager, some guy with an Obama t-shirt and some brown stuff on his nose, a celebrity who wants everyone to pay more taxes but has their money in offshore accounts, and an evil, disgusting, no good Republican who you should spit on...

Today's question is about Bill Ayers...Do you think he's evil because he wants to help schools and has been crimeless for more than half of his life?

OBAMA'S CAMPAIGN MANAGER -Bill Ayers plants tomatoes and once helped a woman across the street...he should be canonized.

OBAMA BROWN NOSER - Big deal...Did you know 15 years ago McCain shook hands with his cousin's ex-boyfriend's boss' accountant's nephew who once read a Klan pamphlet?

CELEBRITY WHO KNOWS BETTER THAN YOU - Obama resonates with all of little people...

TOKEN REPUBLICAN TO SHOW FAIRNESS - I think we should be concerned with...

ANCHOR - And we're out of time...

Truth is, I don't think there is a lot to report except partisan stuff. News jockeys aren't in to giving statistics on the respective plans, cause they're afraid people would fall asleep or turn to the nearest reality show.
So if they want sensationalism, they have to follow the nasty.

if they would do so in EQUAL AMOUNTS for each side, I'd agree with you...

I fully understand the press idea to sensationalize stories, but they are deciding WHICH stories to sensationalize...

Instead of reporting stories and then seeing what sticks, they are TELLING you which story should stick based on THEIR beliefs...
